Does anyone know what Willie does with the boys over the summer? Any team camps?

Seriously??? Can anyone enlighten us?

I believe that there is a scrimmage between Highlands and Campbell County scheduled for Thursday evening.

Thanks for the info. Any team camps? I thought Willie took a group to Florida for some games? Any truth to that? With the group he has coming back Im sure they will be pretty competetive.

I agree with that last sentence. From what I'm hearing Highlands may be better than some think this upcoming year.

I actually had a softball game tonight so I was unable to attend but I'll try and get some info for you.

I was unable to attend but I heard that Nate McGovney played significant minutes for the JV squad at both 1 and 2.

I heard Nick True the incoming 8th grader was playing for the Birds jv team. Can anyone verify this if so how did he do?

This is hard to believe, Nick is a project but he's not ready for JV Basketball I can assure you of that. Last I heard Nick was being held back to repeat 7th grade which IMO is what he needs. Future contributor, yes. JV player Im not so sure at this point but thats JMO.

CC better get him as many minutes as possible and as early as possible if they want to keep him wearing Purple. : ) Glad to hear Nate got the minutes, he will be an excellent player.

Its True. Nick and Jake True were playing with the JV last night. Im all for playing with older kids but Im sure the pace of the game was a wake up for Nick. He is 12 and 6'2 200 and the DR. says he should get to 6'9 by high school. YIKES.

Heard the same thing. True may very well be the future of the Highlands program. I look for big things out of him by his sophomore year.

I sure hope so as there is some nice talent coming up the ranks and to have a solid big man over 6'5 it is essential.

Any news on who showed up for the scrimmage other than underclassmen? I heard 4 Sr's were there and a couple of new Jr's in Collinsworth and Roller. That was after 9-5pm football. Troopers.
