Highlands Summer Ball ?

Featured Replies

I sure hope so as there is some nice talent coming up the ranks and to have a solid big man over 6'5 it is essential.

Any news on who showed up for the scrimmage other than underclassmen? I heard 4 Sr's were there and a couple of new Jr's in Collinsworth and Roller. That was after 9-5pm football. Troopers.

Haven't really heard much since I've been so busy lately so I haven't had time to talk to anyone.

I did hear that Roller and Collinsworth were there though and both, once they get in basketball shape, should be solid and definetly make a big difference defensively for the Birds.

Scrimmages for Highlands I am hearing are Boone Co 6/17 and Mason Co on 6/19. These may be two teams in the Top 25 of the state next season. Willie isnt pulling any punches when scheduling off season workouts. Cambpell Co will be loaded as well next year in the 10th region.

Anyone know what the final was of the Campbell Co-Highlands scrimmage?

Its True. Nick and Jake True were playing with the JV last night. Im all for playing with older kids but Im sure the pace of the game was a wake up for Nick. He is 12 and 6'2 200 and the DR. says he should get to 6'9 by high school. YIKES.

If he's already 200 LBS, Dale will make him a football player.

The Colonel's and then the Royal's tonight at Highlands. This should be a real good test for the Bird's.

Highlands also plays those two teams in the regular season as well.

I wish we could get some updates on how the Birds/Royals/Colonels faired last night. Anybody go up to watch in the steam bath?

I heard the Mason Co. Boys looked very good in their scrimmages with Highlands and Cov Cath. Word is they have a lot of kids 6'4 to 6'6 who can play.

Well, I know my friend went up and he said there were about 40 people there in the stands watching. Some of them players, parents, etc.

Birds will need to find a post player on the blocks IMO. Lother will need to step up his game and play well at the point. He showed as an 8th grader that size doesnt matter winning the MVP of the STate Championship at KBA.
