If Gate was the reason, then why not get all the best teams in the Regional Tournament. Do away with the Districts and just have one big Regional Tournament. Seed the top 6 teams and go from there. Who wants to go watch Holmes play Bellevue or Dayton in this years Regional tournament?

I would think that 2 tournaments A,2A,3A in one and 4A,5A and 6A in another would bring in more money.

They seem to have accepted Brossart however, tough to play there.

I should have read this before my earlier response. It makes perfect sense in that situation for him to play Freshman also.

How about thinking about the playing time he's taking away from a kid that's been playing Freshman all year. Chances are pretty good that that kid needs more experience than the Kid that's coming down to play Freshman. Those kind of moves will kill a program.

Tough draw for some teams. Ryle and Conner have to play each other in the first round with the winner getting to play Boone. Also on that side of the brackets are NCC (who just beat Campbell Co. by 22 last night),Cov. Cath and Highlands. Cov. Cath plays Beechwood and NCC plays Highlands. The other side is Newport,Dixie,St. Henry.Scott.Holy Cross,Simon, and Holmes. The first round is all played this Saturday from Noon till the last game at 7:30 PM. All games are at Cov. Cath. Please record any scores on this thread.

I will be shocked if St. Henry wins. They have a lot of heart and play good fundamental basketball, but they have no size.

If NCC is one dimentional and their strenth is their 3 point shooting, then how did their center get 23 points, and how is he their second leading scorer?

Do away with the District tournaments and have just one big Regional tournament. Seed the top 4 teams and pick from there. It's not fair that some Districts are seeded and others are not anyway. How many times does the top two teams meet in the first round of the Districts. It has happened many times in the 9th Region. It doesn't make sense to me. We have one District that has one 5A school and four 1A schools. Another has three or four 5A schools. Some schools will never have a chance to play in a Regional tournament.

Now your messing with baseball season. But I agree with you. It's normally still too cold for baseball anyway.

I was thinking the exact thing. A Kentucky recruit will have a big advantage.

So when is a defensive game fun to watch. They let all the hand checking and bumping go on out front and the high school player is not good enough to get a good shot off. I liked it better when you had to move your feet on defense.

From what I've seen, there's not a better player in the 9th region than Sorrell.

Dixie shut down NCC's Bread and butter, the 3 point shot. The 4 Lipscomb made in the first half were tough shots.

Dixie did play good defense, however today's average high school player cannot get their shot off without running a play. NCC was down 5 with 47 seconds to go and nobody could create their own offence and get a shot off. Dixie's scout team did a great job of prepairing them for the game. They knew all of NCC's plays. Conner didn't even take a shot in the first half and Lipscomb only had one shot in the second half.
