Potential for some really good matchups, both in the 1st and 2nd rounds!

There seems to be some evenly matched teams. Who would be the "favorite"? IMO it would have to be University Heights but I don't know a whole lot about the other teams.

I agree with you there, I know Brossart and Rose Hill since I follow the 10th and 16th. I have heard of some of the other schools, but I don't know enough to make any judgements.

 

If we were to go by win/loss records, which I know can be misleading sometimes.

I have seen Bishop Brossart, St. Henry, LexChristian, Paintsville and June Buchanan play and have read and heard alot about Gallatin County as a co-worker newphew plays for them. JB, with the Step brothers and Cox (if they are on) will be a tough match-up for any team on this list, followed by UHA (which I haven't seen). My dark horse is Ninth Region St. Henry. Faust is one of the best coaches in the state, and always seems to get his players up and ready for this tourney. If they (St. Henry) can get past UHA in the first round, they could meet up with JB in the finals.... Looks like to me at least, JB should have no problem in the bottome bracket and again to me at least, the upper bracket is the tougher of the two brackets.

I say the Final Four will be Paintsville, UHA, Somerset, and June Buchanan with the Finals being Paintsville and June Buchanan and Coach Runyon in his final year will win the "All A" State Title.

Bardstown won the All-"A" in 2006 and lost in the finals in 2007. They are a little younger this year and at times throw it around a bit too much, but they have depth, good leadership, and run the floor. I like their chances in the tournament, but the upper bracket looks tough.

I think Pineville will be one of those teams that fans will pull for if they can win round one.

IMO Gallatin will be in the finals. Their Seniors have all played and started the the last two years so they have game experience in that atmosphere and gym. They will be focused and ready to win. Gallatin's coaches will have them prepared to win it!!!

While I would love to see it, and it would make my friend so very, very happy, I just don't see Gallatin being able to stop June B. June B has only lost two games to Kentucky teams and those were too two of the best teams in the Commonwealth, LexCath and Mason County, both by only 10 or so points.

Gallatin Co. in the finals? Metcalfe Co. is a very good team and very athletic. I think the Wildcats have a good team, but will be one and done in this tournament. If they happen to make it past the first round, June Buchanan or University Heights will be in their way. Best of Luck to all the teams! :thumb:
