I heard last night at Highlands that Nic is having surgery today, and that he is out for the season.

It was a very good game, Boone always seems to find a way to win. #22 is a good player, sorry I forget his name, NCC kept fouling him and he kept making his free throws. # 50 for Boone, I think his name is Brown had 18, tough to stop in the paint, and Giesler #32 had 21pts for NCC.

Newport C Catholic has a very talented group of Juniors that should get plenty of varsity time this year. Many of them played on 2 knothole city championships.

Ashland only had one player that looked to score and had probably 15 out of his teams 18 points at half. NCC really concentrated on helping out on him in the second half and held him to 2 points. He is a very good player. Neither team played very well in the first half. NCC looked tired from last nights overtime game.

Sewell is as good a sophomore as I've seen, the only thing that kept him from scoring 30 was his coach. He sat out most of the 2nd Quarter when NCC made their run. I don't believe he was in foul trouble. He is as good as Simpson and McGraw already. Anyone know if he is really only 15?

You can bet that if it was football, that would be fixed.

NCC and Cov. Cath have the exact same gym, why is it terrible?

Brossart lost a close one to Simon Kenton, by 3 or so in the Holy Cross tournament. BB was up by 7 in the 3rd quarter.

I agree Pete Carril's offence is great and played the right way, but it doesn't take more than 45 seconds to get a good shot. College basketball has never been better, and they have a clock. No real fan likes a slow down game anyway.

NCC has an all-around better team than last year. Much better shooting team and can easily go 8 deap. If Dustin Giesler plays like I know he can, it will give them the inside game to go along with their outside shooting.

I don't believe he was ever given a JV uniform either.

Great comeback from 13 down to win for Newcath. Dustin Giesler and Jeromy Conner had about 20 each.

Newcath lost to North College Hill by 10 or so. NCC led most of the first half until their big man got in foul trouble. NCH was very quick. NCC JV and Varsity won however.

Both Mcgraw and Simpson can elivate and get their shot off almost any time against any guard in the region. If they're hitting shots, they'll be tough to beat.
