NewCath rolls off a 22-2 run to go up 44-22. Subs for both teams play the final 3 or 4 minutes.

 

Brossart lacks size inside, threw it away a little too much, but scraped well and can knock down shots if open.

 

Football additions make this NewCath team much, much better. Kelly is a stedy defender, rebounder, and can finish. Cain can handle the ball well enough and adds some more muscle. Geisler dominated inside all game. Brossart second quarter run came when he was on the bench with two fouls and they could take the ball inside.

Good guard play from #20. Might have had all Brossart's points in the first quarter. As long as the NCC aircraft carriers weren't hanging out in the paint waiting, he did a good job penetrating against guards on fast breaks.

 

Brossart had some decent pressure against NCC (who doesn't have a true point guard) but NCC uses the big people to get the ball up the floor well.

Dec.27th and 28th would be a good time to come out and check freshmnan basketball in the nky area. Covington Catholic tourney at Sports of all Sorts. Mason County opens against CC at 1230 on Thursday.

The freshman teams in NKY are really fun the watch there are some good teams and some great talents. One of the best classes I have seen in a while! Good Luck fellows!!

Connor has a nice team. Good big men and guards. They are deep and play hard.

Does Highlands have any Freshman playing up on JV/Varsity instead of playing Freshman?

Birds freshmen have no one moved up. They fall to 0-6 after a 51-45 homestanding loss to Brossart on Saturday.

 

Brossart wins their second in a row following a 51-35 win at Calvary Christian on Wednesday.

 

Mustangs will participate in the Holy Cross Tournament this upcoming week in Latonia.

 

Incidentally, I'm pretty sure that the 37th District Tournament is now set via seeding: Calvary will play Campbell County and Brossart will play Scott. Of course this is much farther down the road, in early February.
