Great pitching effort today by Towles, Popovich, Head and Muench who had a combined 15 strikeouts.

Towles will be a stud this year for the Birds.

Congrats on winning the opener.

Just out of curiosity how hard do you think he was throwing?

Nice job Birds. Temps today for pitchers was not the best to say the least. Way to not let the elements distract you.

Great win for the Birds! High School baseball in March, Brrr...

All I know is that you could tell a big difference between Towles and the Pendleton starter...

Looks as if Pendleton hung in there pretty good. Pendleton is coming off a rough season last year so this effort is encouraging.

The Cats were extremely competitive and were only down 2-1 going into the bottom of the sixth. Senior Cody Delk pitched 5 good innings and the defense backed him up well. Wednesday is Pendleton's home opener against Bishop Brossart.

Congrats to Coach Johnson and his guys on getting the season off on the right foot!

How did PendLEton County do?:irked:

Hitting leaders? Web gems? Scoring re-caps? Anybody got 'em???

Not much hitting in this game on either side. Highlands only had 3 or 4 hits. What I can remember - Newman, Muench, Rosenhagen with singles.

Congrats to the Birds! Way to get it started with a win.
