it breaks my heart knowing that this will be the last year for Cumberland & Evarts to be able to play Harlan and Williamsburg.

Big schools are not the answer IMHO.

Think of the kids that wont even play at the big school....its heartbreaking! High school football is not about winning and losing, its about developing work ethic, character, discipline, teamwork, working toward a goal, learning how to deal with losses, learning to be graceful in victory, and a thousand other positives that are learned on the field, regardless of the wins or losses. Just think how many of the kids playing this year at Evarts, Cawood, and Cland that wouldnt even be on the team when they realized that their playing time would be very little if any. I think we sometimes forget that the schools are there for the kids, not the other way around. Its a very sad situation.

There are lessons to be learned everywhere, such as waiting your turn and not quitting if you don't start on Day 1 or competing for a starting job instead of having it handed to you because there are no other options or learning to work with new teammates.

Too many young players have been rushed the last few years. There are no freshman teams in the county now and very limited JV action. Plus, you won't have to play as many both ways. There are lots of ways to get plenty of players on the field.

I was at the big U.K. / U.L. game last night-wow what a game, but I ran into

some pineville faithful and they said Evarts put their first team back in the game with 30 seconds to go to try to keep Pineville from scoring. If they did that will come back to haunt you. But, it could have just been sour grapes, I was just trying to find out if that really happened.

Coach Canady was trying to sub the players and the Pineville players on the field were taughting Evarts Coach and the Evarts Fans in the stand by making rude jesters on the field... The refs were calling 12 men on the field(when all the boys were doing were switching out) on the Evarts team (Coach Canady was just trying to get some playing time for everyone!!) So coach Canady just stuck his "A" team back in, they started it and he Just finished it :fight:

Evarts subbed out all of their starters and Pineville was gunning down the field tryong to score and the refs called a pass interference on a freshmen of ours. Then T.J. Lord started waving his hands up and down telling the Evarts fans to get pumped up...all it was is Pinevillle players not learning how to take a defeat. Coach Canady put the starters back in because the refs called that and that kid was being a smart butt to our fans. We could care less if they scored again with 23.1 seconds left in the game...most of our starters already had there pads off and had to put them back on and run onto the field. But no big deal, the little mountain lions weren't so enthused when the starters came back in. But thats what happend.
