September 6, 201115 yr I think that someone designed that Maryland uniform as a joke, and they were taken seriously somewhere along the way. My wife thinks a kindergarten class may have designed it. Either is plausible.

And not only that this glorious tradition you speak of is being built right in front of your eyes. One National Championship appearance at a time. It's your opinion that they're only going to the schools for the uniforms, a really stupid reason by the way. Adapt and move forward or get left behind...no one in here is saying you have to do it those schools with 100 year old traditions of winning do not have to but to dog the schools who do not have the tradition for doing whatever they can to contend and improve is asinine.

Yes, I read it. It quotes a few kids and one guy says it's the uniforms more than anything else. That doesn't speak for all the kids or even the majority and it doesn't say it's the only reason. I'll get used to what I feel like getting used to, not what you want me to and I'll never get used to ugly. Adapt and move forward or get left behind? I guess that's what Auburn and Alabama did the last couple years, adapted to drastic uniform changes so they wouldn't get left behind.... I couldn't care less about what you think is asinine.

September 6, 201115 yr Alabama, Auburn, Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan, OSU...all tradition rich programs that will continue to draw top players for many years to come. No need to try and draw players in with flashy uniforms. Bosie, Maryland, Oregon, Utah, VaTech, TCU, etc... All programs with little tradition of success compared to the above listed. Like it or not, young athletes are drawn to the uniforms and the "swag" (team gear) that the programs give out. And it's not gonna make the traditional schools any less of a football power, but it will take away some recruits from those school and bring them to these up and coming football school and it will improve the program. So what!? Why the resistance? If it makes more programs relative on the national scene then I'm all for it. And it is. Getting more teams publicity for the uniforms get people talking about them, and that gets em noticed by recruits. It's good for the game. I personally hated the uni's last night, but everyone is talking bout Maryland now. It's getting the desired result and it's not going anywhere.
