Usually in a preseason scrimmage there are not kickoffs or punts. Will this be a true game like scrimmage?

 

No it won't be a preseason game or anything but the teams will go full speed and keep score.

I thought he was referring to school size not how many a team dresses.

 

Manual has many more females than males but that has nothing to do with football. As for trinity and X, yes enrollment is all boys but only about 13% of them play football in all 4 classes. 9-12. It is a no cut sport is why there are that many out for the teams. It is a way to be on a state championship team without really trying out. If you do not quit you are treated like all members of the team.

Correct... I was talking about the numbers used by the KHSAA to determine football classification, not numbers going out for football.

Question: Of the teams Trinity, Louisville St. X and Manual played in 2009, how many of those opponents were larger programs? I doubt it was many. I can guarantee it wasn't 14 out of 15.

Enrollment CAN play a factor in some program's success....however I do feel it is irrelevant in Highlands' program, as they have plenty of people who go there to be a part of the program. They have a rich tradition, awesome alumni, and a huge fan base. Enrollment is not a negative factor for them.

I don't know if HHS' scrimmages are normally covered by the news media, but I venture both teams will have media representation at this event....how cool?

Of course Highlands is at a disadvantage when it comes to enrollment compared to Trinity. Fewer boys to decide if they want to play football.

The Rocks will do their darndest to prove themselves worthy of the honor of scrimmaging the mighty Bluebirds. I sure hope we don't have Bluebird poop on our heads when we leave. Thank you to Highlands for allowing us to have the opportunity to step on the same field with you. I'm sure you'll find us to be properly in awe and cowed by the institution that is HHS.

The way i see it because this is a scrimmage and not a game, the only way that the better team is going to be determined in this game is if it is very obvious. I just forsee a lot of post scrimmage debate and if the game is close I don't think the winner should hang their hat as themselves as a better team because they won a scrimmage.

Is Trinity bringing the players from Kentucky , or do you need to charter an extra bus , plane or limo for Trinity's Indiana players.

Haha I can not agree with that anymore. This is the scrimmage kicks off the race for 20. I am definately looking forward to it, but I would also prefer to see a regular season match-up.

What was the score when Conner went out?

 

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. Highlands had the ball around Males 35-40 yard line. It was very early in the scrimmage, (2nd series?) Josh ran off tackle first play to the endzone for the score and someone rolled up on his leg. Male's defense had no answer for him.

Darn. Last year when we only had the one scrimmage (against Male) it was under true, game type conditions. This year we will only have one scrimmage. I hate going into the first regular season game without having practiced the special teams in game type situations.

Hey I could be wrong.. I just didn't think think it was a true game. More of a controlled scrimmage.

Our scrimmages are typically 3 quarters of actual game conditions, kick offs, punts, etc. and then the 4th quarter the JV teams square off. Don't know what Coach Beatty and your coach will want to do.

:lol: Yeah, I'm a Rocks fan. RM, TD, and RP snagged me very early in my time in Louisville. I still remember being scared when they yelled my name at UofL's spring game.
