Back to the scrimmage...

 

So how does Trinity usually approach their scrimmages? Are they used as tools for trying different things, or are they played basically as real games, with Coach Beatty going all-out to win them?

 

I will be curious to see how the attendance is for this scrimmage? It sounds like the game is at HHS... I'd say that if the weather is good that day the local turn-out could be quite large for a scrimmage.

 

This will be nothing short of game speed, except for the team on the losing end they might say there were "working" on a few things. :lol: When you get two teams together of this caliber there is something to prove.

Exactly ,this game (scrimage as some call it) will be a flat out war. The coaches may or may not try to "down play" it , but your not going to stop the players from both of these "powerhouses" from trying to rip each others head off.

If the scrimage is at Highlands ,the boosters may want to open shop early , there could be tons of money to be made on the blue and white stuff at this event. Last year the male scrimage drew lots of fans and I think this scimage will surpass that one in attendance.

There is a Krogers right down the street on Memorial Parkway , they can buy all thier tailgating supplies there ,party ,and have a nice walk to the stadium for the big show. (Hows that ?)

So Highlands will you be bringing just kids from Highlands or come from Cov Cath too??? :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Is Trinity bringing the players from Kentucky , or do you need to charter an extra bus , plane or limo for Trinity's Indiana players.

Oh I agree at this rate DCM will be sold out which really isn't that hard to do.

Yes, just a little longer than the walk from the Ft. Mitchell Krogers to Beechwood. I am sure it will be a nice workout on an August evening.

Usually in a preseason scrimmage there are not kickoffs or punts. Will this be a true game like scrimmage?

Boy, this has to be the craziest post I've ever read on BGP, period. Enrollment is irrelevent???? What are you talking about? Anyone who thinks the game of football is won or lost solely by playing "the right eleven" is hitting the sauce. There is a reason why you don't see too many 1A teams beating 5A or 6A teams.

 

And with this in mind, it actually is an impressive feat for HHS to do as well as they do playing up in class. With the exception of playing Beechwood, every team Highands faced in 2009 came from a larger school (boys enrollment-wise). Of those 15 games, 14 were against larger opponents. And HHS won all 15 of them.

 

Question: Of the teams Trinity, Louisville St. X and Manual played in 2009, how many of those opponents were larger programs? I doubt it was many. I can guarantee it wasn't 14 out of 15.

 

Trinity and St X did play a common opponent last year that was a bigger squad in both size and numbers than both of them. That was Cincy St X. All three of these schools dress over 100.

As for Manual, they do not have large numbers. There team is probably in the fifties or sixties in size and they probably played half their schedule against larger schools.They had few seniors last year and will ( should be) very good this year.
