How many fans will Trinity bring so we know how many Hot Dogs to grill up. There is nowhere to eat in town since the town closes down when the Birds are playing. Are hot dogs ok Rockmom or do you prefer only Top Sirlon Burgers. 20n10

Lol. All seriousness here though. I just hope the Trinity folk are not shocked to see the condition of the facilities at Highlands for those who have never been there before. Geez, just added another list of things to do for the Sr Dads club to get done before the big day at the stadium. I am certainly not complaining here, just thinking outloud. I guess this is why Highlands is Highlands, nothing too shabby, nothing too fancy, somewhere in between for a tiny little community of Blue collar workers. We will have the place looking good for the visiting team. BF, we need someone to wear a White Hat this yr, maybe you can direct some people from your perch during July spruce up week. :thumb:20n10

In all honesty, we don't judge a program by it's facilities. We know we are very fortunate in that the generosity of some very special people, and the generosity of a lot of average people helped us build our facilities.

 

I do wish you'd quit trying to make THS kids, fans, etc sound like some sort of "elite". I mean, I'll eat hot dogs with the best of them. And, you'd be surprised at the number of blue collar workers at Trinity...both students and parents.

Sweeperboy is just having some fun with you and the rest of the Trinity folks. I'm sure we are all looking forward to the scrimmage, it is going to help both programs in regards to finding out our pros and cons. I hope everyone comes and enjoys the day and both teams leave without any serious injuries.

As you know, I've had the opportunity to see both facilities. Trinity is new, clean, well-designed and very nicely appointed. But Highlands has been lovingly cared for by staff and volunteers and looks incredibly nice for a small-ish facility crammed into a school's backyard.

 

The Trinity and Highlands campuses are alike in being landlocked. Obviously, the Trinity campus is bigger, but both are very nice and both schools face similar space issues with their football fields and other athletic facilities.

The Highlands turf is starting to show some wear and tear. Is that on the agenda any time soon?

I don't think this game will live up to the hype. For one thing it is a scrimmage. Secondly, Beatty does not try to win the first St. X game much less a scrimmage.

 

Now with Highlands being a smaller school and with the reputation of their coach, I suspect they will treat it like the Super Bowl.

I'm sure both teams, and their coaches, will view it exactly the same way.
