Coaching Turnover

Recommended Posts

I think that this is true for all sports. Everyone feels as if they have a right to weigh in on the coach's decision making. I wonder how many bankers, doctors, or laborers would stay in the same place if they had to deal with an entire community giving their two cents when it is not needed for welcomed.

But let's not leave out the ADMINISTRATIVE POLITICS and the "so called" influential people or "BACK OFFICE SUPPORT" that hound the school's administration

This comes into play much more than people think, especially in private schools where MONEY CONTRIBUTORS are a much bigger factor than in public schools.

So when is the boys coach switching to the football team, and the football coach switching to the basketball team.:scared: Doesn't the same coach, coach both boys and girls soccer to????? They sure do things funny in Russell:confused:

Unfortunately, with games on the horizon that will actually count, and won-loss records soon to be on the line, might there be few folks in several school communities preparing to complain or hope that their particular coach might move on? Many coaches and players are currently working hard to do well in 2008-09, but not all will achieve their dreams, and we'll begin another cycle of lose-gripe-complain or win-laugh-smile.

Just like in politics, sometimes the head honcho (coach) gets way too much credit or way too much blame when the team is winning and/or losing. It would be nice if there would be an increase in stability within the girls' head coaching ranks around the state for the next few seasons. Any thoughts out there?

I don't think there is any doubt that the boy's coaches get much more support from the administration than girl's coaches when it comes to parent complaints, etc. It is almost as if administrations feel girl's coaches are "replaceable" so why put up with the grief, whereas for the boys coaches they will stand and fight. After a while the girl's coaches have had enough and just move on, because they know no one has their back.
