I haven't seen a middle schooler that was really ready to play up.The only reason this is being done is because at some schools the talent level and numbers are way down. A school with talented juniors and seniors will not pull a kid out of middle school to play varsity- maybe JV not varsity. I think thats why some parents choose to transfer their kid to a program thats down so their kid can play up.

Flutz is a really good player that I have seen play a few times. Good luck to all mentioned and hope they all stay free from injury.

The last time the landscape changed at Russell was an influx of transfers that cost the last coach alot of problems. Is Kidwell ready for that kind of pressure from the parents and fans.

Not from what I've heard! Maybe they need some more RH transfers.

Don't see Russell playing them either Doc.

Russell will be weak this year! If they win more than 8 games, Kidwell is coach of the year in the 16th. Good coach but not much talent.

I might agree a little but not "NO WAY" She did average a double/double her soph. season. I agree on Lewis, she had a decent year last year. Look forward to seeing if Keeton from Raceland has improved any.

Do they play next year. Russell will be worse next year I've heard.

Ashland would not win a 3A champioship. Just realize Russell is down a bit this year and will still have a respectable year. I do realize that that's probably not good enough for most Russell fans, considering their past success.

I agree with what everyone is saying about fund raising and booster clubs helping. And that would be great. But I am talking about a coach who has said: Alright here is what your Kid owes to go on this trip, (no pay no go). No transportation provided, so you as parents must get them there and back. THIS JUST ISN'T FAIR TO PLAYER OR PARENTS.

So when is the boys coach switching to the football team, and the football coach switching to the basketball team.:scared: Doesn't the same coach, coach both boys and girls soccer to????? They sure do things funny in Russell:confused:

Again, what about the extra expense that this puts on families. It has already been said that some kids don't play because they cannot afford the spring trip. The boosters at all these schools don't pay for the whole trip. And at one school for the Spring Trip the coach is making the parents bring their kid to Fla. and not even providing transportation. Lets see a weeks stay for a family of four in fla. $1500 not counting food and gas! In these shakey economic times that's extreme for alot of these parents. I am sure the coaches way is paid for, so I guess he doesn't care.

So let me get this straight. At Russell the Girls coach is now the new Boys coach::and the once Boys coach is now the new Girls coach????? Talk about turnover:confused::confused::confused::creepy::creepy:

I have heard that several teams will be traveling to Fla. and other places south for spring break. I understand the weather thing, But with high gas prices and rising costs of everything and more families struggling these days should these coaches try to stay a little closer to home.

Things like this sure do put things in the proper perspective. Life is to short. Sympathy and prayers to this family and friends that knew him.
