...why the canned food drive contest of course! Who will collect the most cans?

Oh there is a football game? Russell's line has to improve this one is all about pride. For Raceland this one really is a tune-up for the play-offs, but the perfect season would be special.

Might be a big game. Hope people show up for it.

It should be a great game, but I'll have to go with the Rams in this one.

Mason County holds the Devils to 7 points; I look for Raceland to do the same.

Russell has now lost 2 in a row and is staring number 3 in the face. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Raceland blanked the Devils next Friday…..

The battle cry for this one should be “A blank at the Hank”

That's pretty good Painter. You may want to copyright that real quick. I can see some T-Shirts being so if that comes to fruition.

Uh oh Bulletin Board material already! I am just looking forward to the game. There is something special, no matter how good or bad each team is, of seeing these two teams on the field together. Until last year it hadn't happened in my lifetime.

Both sides have passionate fans, excellent schools, and great Coaching staffs. This is the one night a year I hope the Devils don't win, but I love for them to show some heart and make this one, one to remember.

It should be noted that there is a canned food drive and other charity "contests" between the school. The real winners there is the community. This game transcends the field. Its about the schools coming together for a great cause and enjoying watching our kids compete on the field.

I hope both sides keep some perspective on this game this week.

Here's another one for you Red Rambler....26 October 2007...Ram Stadium. Russell 35 Raceland 14.

I don't think bulletin board material is really needed for Raceland in this one. This year's Russell team is a world away from being as good as last year's team and is a galaxy away from being as good as the '05 and '06 teams. Let's face it. The stars are aligned for the Rams in this one. This game pits the best Raceland team in a decade against the worst Russell team in a decade. No bulletin board material is needed when you simply have the better team.

And darn it, I really wanted to come on here and give you Raceland guys a hard time about how Russell is going to win this week! But after witnessing this Russell team play again tonight, I have to say they are going need a turnaround for the ages to beat Raceland. And since I don't think they are allowed to bring back Tyler Jones, Adam Foster, Toby Hicks, Jonathan Cornwell, and Greg Bender from last year's team, the facts are the facts. Raceland should beat this team and beat them badly.

That being said, I voted for Russell in the poll just to make sure they had one vote. ;-)

How long has it been since Russell lost two-in-a-row at Henry R. Evans?

Raceland will win this one, and we may see a little histroy made too.

Good point. It hasn't happened at least as far back as 1998. I checked the KHSAA site and that's as far back as their records go. For that matter, this week marked the first time Russell has lost two-in-a-row anywhere since 2001.

From 1990 to 1999 Russell posted a cumulative record of 81 – 37 and Raceland logged a total of 77 – 37. During that time span, Russell had two loosing seasons: 1990 the devils went 2 -9 (there surly had to be a 3 game skid in that season). Raceland had only a single loosing season at 5 – 6 in 1993.

FWIW the records in those years were as follows:

1990: Russell 2-9 / Raceland 9-3

1991: Russell 10-2 / Raceland 8-3

1992: Russell 8-4 / Raceland 8-3

1993: Russell 11-2 / Raceland 5-6

1994: Russell 12-1 / Raceland 8-3

1995: Russell 10-2 / Raceland 7-4

1996: Russell 10-2 / Raceland 10-1

1997: Russell 3-7 / Raceland 6-6

1998: Russell 7-4 / Raceland 7-4

1999: Russell 8-4 / Raceland 7-4

You're right Graybeard....we will see some history made next Friday.

This is the best Raceland Team that I have seen in years. This is the best bunch of kids and they are all a close bunch of kids also. They can and they will beat Russell on Friday night. If they keep playing like they have been playing, they will win this game. I just don't want to see any injuries on the field Friday night. GO RAMS!!!!!!!!!!!

“A blank at the Hank”

A very likely outcome of this Halloween night's game at Henry R. Evans Stadium. :scared:

I wish this game could have been a week later. Going to be a great night of football in the Northeastern Ky area Friday night. I like Raceland in this one, they are out to prove something and Russell seems to be in a bit of a slope this year. But with a rivarly like this, funny things sometimes happens.
