Boyle County (5-0) travels north to take on the Knights of Lexington Catholic (0-5). Most years this would be a banner game in the state. This season it is hardly a blip on the radar. The Rebels are nationally ranked. The Knights are winless.

This is the last of the "hard opening stretch" for Catholic. In their last four they have 2 games that should be competitive but winnable and 2 that should be easy wins. But that is the last four. This one, well, this one will probably get ugly fast.

Since holding Highlands to 17 in the season opener, the Knights have failed to keep an opponent under 35. Their offense has shown some life but is still trying to find that much needed consistency, stability, and ball control.

Boyle, on the other hand, is the best the state has to offer. Their star, Montavin Quisenberry, scored 4 touchdowns three different ways (2 rushing, 1 receiving, 1 kick return) against the Knights last year. He has gotten better. The Knight defense has gotten worse.

Boyle early and often here.

image.thumb.jpeg.b2998436eebfe3a98bb6969f55931bbb.jpegCatholic week is finally here!!!

Although it is no longer a district game, it is a huge rivalry game.  Especially since Danville dropped the Rebels.  Love posting this photo.  Gets me fired up!

Boyle leads the all-time series 23-14, and has won 11 of the last 12.  Several of these have been blowouts.  LC’s last victory was in the 2022 regular season 28-27, but the Rebels avenged that defeat in the Regional Finals 41-21.  Last years game featured a running clock and a 56-21 Rebel victory.

Like many of Boyle's rivals, Boyle is on another level and will destroy Catholic this coming week.

Continued apologies to Boyle for the dumb decision to cancel the Danville-Boyle game by the Ads.  Boyle would've ran the Ads out of the stadium in 1 quarter but it stunk not having that game on the calendar this year.  At least Boyle got a nice out of state win, so Danville's loss was their gain.
