Danville

Plays 25 11 yards

Rushing 19-11 yards

Passing 3-6 0 yards

1st downs 1

3rd down Conv. 0/8

4th down Conv. 0/0

Penalties 3-19 yards

Fumbles 5 Lost 4

Is that 11 yards on 19 rushes or (-11) on 19 rushes?

Either way, it's hard to believe that's where this rivalry is at now.

I’m going to put this out there…

Is it time to end the rivalry matchup. In the era of RPI and the importance of playing either teams that are larger or will have good win loss records, is it time for Boyle to move on from playing Danville? The last 3 matchups have resulted in Boyle wins by a total margin of 156-7. That’s an average score of 52-2.33

As far as RPI goes, Boyle does a great job of playing tough teams throughout the year that one weak game against Danville doesn't have much of an effect. LCA, Scott County, Lex Cath, and Freddy D are more than enough for the Rebel's RPI.

Now as far as fielding a competitive rivalry game? That's been gone for a few years now and doesn't look like it will be competitive again for another decade plus.

With all the tradition and history with Danville and Frankfort High it’s becoming harder and harder for these small schools to keep talent from going to the bigger schools in Boyle Co and Franklin County. The turnover of coaches over the years has hurt these school badly. Sad to see but when you have a school where everyone is getting big exposure, a well built program in terms of development in players and funding, and major success in playoff runs it’s hard to see these two schools bouncing back for a while.
