Hatz
It's always a possibility. The 2000 Boyle team came close (Finished with 797 I think) but only scored 38 in the State Final against Glasgow. It's a tough order because you don't think about the record in the final, you only think about what it takes to win the title. The result is that often times you play it closer to the vest than in any other game. That said, Super makes the right point. Playing Belfry or Russell prohibits hanging "half a hundred" on the board. Not just because they play very good defense but they play "ball control" offense that eats clocks. That gives you fewer chances to score. Can they break it? Maybe. Will they, I think logic says its unlikely.

MountainThunder
Man, that's a lot of points. No doubt. IF a team played 14 games, that is 57.21 ppg.
thegeneral
This record absolutely could go down. I'm not willing to say Mercer will do it for sure, but if not they'll come really close. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see them score 50+ again this week, which would put the record in jeopardy next week.

Watusi
No way .... meaningless record .... represents nothing I strongly disagree. Looking back at some of our records, I enjoy and appreciate some of the accomplishments of those great teams/players who acheived them. I love the record books. :ylsuper:

The counter to this is...look at the top of the record books and you won't find many losing programs. The record that is overlooked for Mercer is Rushing TD's in a season. They already own it this year after 13 games.:sssh:
