theguru
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 20, 2016 The KHSAA is proud to announce a new partnership with UK Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, which will see the group continue to provide first-rate care at state championship events while also increasing its role as a partner of the Association. As part of the UK Healthcare system, the Ortho and Sports Medicine group has supported the KHSAA with certified athletic trainers at various championship events over the last 20 years. A silver level corporate partner of the Association, the involvement of the Ortho and Sports Medicine group has played a vital role in the safety and care of all KHSAA participants. “UK Sports Medicine and the doctors, athletic trainers and staff have long supported KHSAA events, particularly those in service areas in and around Lexington,” said KHSAA Commissioner Julian Tackett. “The certified/licensed athletic trainers and the plethora of student trainers are known as models for the profession throughout the country, and we are pleased with our longstanding relations. This current agreement only enhances that work.” “We are proud to partner with the KHSAA, as we both have the same vision to help the student-athletes of Kentucky excel at the highest level,” said Rob Ullery, Director of Outreach for UK Sports Medicine. UK Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine and the UK Sports Rehabilitation Clinic is located at the new outpatient center on 2195 Harrodsburg Road on the site of the former Turfland Mall in Lexington. UK HealthCare Sports Medicine offers a walk-in clinic for anyone with an acute orthopaedic injury occurring in the past 48 hours. I think they've had partnerships with UK things before, so I don't know if this is connected to the state finals.
theguru
Is this a sign football state finals will be moving to UK? I hope not, I have attended high school football games in numerous large venues and WKU is perfect for the KHSAA Football Finals.
OlDog75
I'd like to attend a set of finals that would be close enough to get home the same night. But I also like the idea of a rotation.

All Tell
Does this mean all sports related injuries have to be seen now at UK sports medicine? No. It means that UKSM is providing coverage for state championships in the Lexington area.
