Steelers 33 Bengals 20

Sort of like the Steelets losing the best RB in the league in the last matchup

Did I ever say anything about that injury not having an impact on that game? I been saying for a few weeks now that imo the three best teams in the afc are the Bengals, Pats and Steelers. I just know how my fellow bengal fans are with their typical overreaction to any lost.

It just took all the air out of the stadium. PBS was as loud as ever when AJ caught that touchdown pass, but you could hear a pin drop every time they picked up a 3rd and long.

One of the loudest crowds I've heard at PBS. Big Ben was forced to take two TO's early, and I suspect the crowd was a reason why. And that fly over was AWESOME.

May be Coach, but I was hoping they could make a statement with the game today. I'll stand by my post though. Bengals three seed, play Steelers first round and Bengals lose again but I hope I'm wrong. I thought I heard on WLW radio this morning from some talking heads who cover NFL that this was a deep Bengals team.

It is and they lost to another very good team in the league. People these things happen in the NFL. I don't know why Cincinnati fans get it in their head that other teams always go out and win. Pittsburgh is a good team and won today, its no more no less.

As for making a statement, I get so tired of hearing that. Three years ago when they played the Steelers people for a playoff spot said this is a statement game, the Bengals won. Last year Bengals played the Broncos on Monday night and had to win to make the playoffs people said this is a statement game and well the Bengals won. Earlier this year agaisnt Seattle people said that and the Bengals won, the first Pittsburgh game people said that and he Bengals won. People always seem to forget those things, but when they lose people then say well they could have made a statement with this game.

At the end of the day the only game that will be a true statement game will be their first playoff game and so on after that.

Did the Bengals peak too soon this season?

Based on? Its the NFL people teams will lose games eventually. You can then say the same thing about the Pats and Broncos. It happens, all that will matter is locking up the playoff spot and then doing something with that.

Denver still has to play Pittsburgh, so if the Bengals take care of business against SF and Baltimore, we're the 2 seed as long as Pitt beats Denver.

Not true in that scenario the Bengals still have to beat the Broncos. Even if the Bengals win next week and Broncos lose. If the Broncos beat the Bengals the following week, then the Broncos would have the head to head tie breaker over the Bengals. Next weeks games really don't mean much in terms of the 2 seed.

The one game the Bengals have to win to at least lock up a playoff spot and to guarantee they win the division is the Ravens game. The Steelers could win out in the regular season and the Bengals lose the next two. If the bengals beat the Ravens then the Bengals still clinch the division.

Don't know where this "out for the season" is coming from. On AD's post game interview and Marvin's post game everything was dependent on his seeing a specialist tomorrow.

It said a team source told them he is out for the season. My guess is right now the Bengals do think he is done for the season, but want to send him to a specialist just to make sure before placing him in IR.

So I will ask the question, wasnt this the drop year of Andy's new contract? If so, do you keep him?

Bengals will keep him.

After the season he has had this year. The only way they don't keep him is if McCarron plays great and they make a deep run in the playoffs with McCarron playing a big part in it. That would be the only chance he won't be back next year. McCarron would have to show they could have him for cheaper and no drop off and that would be hard because Dalton played great this year and deserves to stay.

My bad lol just because I don't think it's the end of the earth with the Bengals losing, it doesn't mean I am happy about it.

I think the Bengals still get the two seed and Steelers get the 6 seed. I see these two teams playing for the afc championship this year.

So much of the NFL is winning games when you are the healthier team. Bengals were the healthier team for much of the year and took care of business. Today they were not and got beat.

If they can get back everyone but Dalton for the SF game they should be healthy enough to win. Then Denver game could be interesting because Peyton may or may not be back. Then win at Home vs Baltimore and see where they are at health-wise.
