UK just isn't as good as some thing they are. I think the prediction thread was like a 2 to 1 vote for UK wining this game. I just don't think they are very good and the defense is horrible and as long as the inconsistency on the QB's part continues with the questionable play calling, well this team is going nowhere.

When does Stoops stat being questioned? I mean he's a great recruiter, but when it doesn't translate into W's against teams that are mediocre then you have to start questioning him also.

If you are comparing Stoops as a recruiter to Joker, yeah he's great. In the big picture of college football he's barely good, nowhere near great. He is winning Ohio kids that OSU/Michigan don't want, in other words kids that would have gone to IU or Illinois in the past. Can't win with those kids. Not in the B1G, not even in the weak SEC East.

Tough game for UK, at the end AU controlled the line of scrimmage, where "Big Boy" football games are won. UK has equal if not better skill players than AU, but line positions is where UK will have to recruit and develop over the next few years to be able to knock off the top dogs in the SEC consistently.

Towles taking the sack to end the game is totally uncalled for. He knows it because I'm sure he has be told and coached that before; has to throw the football in that situation.

Again, a tale of two halves for this young football team, which is expected, even if fans don't want to admit it. Tough loss in a great home atmosphere, but this cannot be seen as a negative, because they're in the meat of their schedule and can still improve their standing and image as a football program.

Sadly the most talented of the two teams won.

The team that had the best linemen won; skill players would be a toss up.

Some UK fans act like they should be playing in the Georgia Dome trying to lock up a spot in the playoff.

Dial it down a little bit.

Disagree. I think you are underestimating the difference between big time wideouts and middle of the pack ones.

A lot of receivers may not even give them a chance to make the catch. Shoot the corner had great coverage on him, and the ball was even thrown a little inside. A wr actually usually has to try to play defense on that to make sure it is not picked. However he timed his jump perfect and even got his hands between the defenders hands to give himself to make that catch. Not only that he had to try to hang on to the ball while going to the ground while doing a front flip and defender trying to pull it out. But hey yeah that is a wr most top wrs catch.....

Now is that a play a team needs to make to win a type of game like that, yes. However is that a catch most wrs from top teams make still probably not.

UK is better this year than they were last year. They were better last year than they were the year before. Rome wasn't built in a day. UK football doesn't have the tradition to roll in 4 and 5 star recruits until they win this type of game consistently, but they are preparing and coaching kids up much better than the previous staff.

How many tackles should we expect from the nose tackle position? Or is their job just to take up two blockers and free the LBs?

It's hard to judge a NT, generally, you just want to see how disruptive he is.

Agree overall. Elam is getting better. Had 6 tackles last night. Not sure how he graded out because a)I don't watch him every play and b)I don't know what his responsibility is on every play.

Needs to continue working on the body and getting more explosive.

If he loses 30-40 more pounds he could be a disruptive force that people notice every play. That would make him a lot of money in a few years.

Exactly, and I do not say that against U.K. at all. U.K. has gotten better, a lot better with more talented athletes. Some people don't understand what and how long it takes to build a team from scratch, and basically that's what Stoops came into. U.K. now has the Starters /athletes to compete with good teams. What it takes a lot more of is Depth. When the Cats back ups can't compete with their opponets back ups then that is the difference.

As for last night, U.K. got whipped badly on the LOS in the 1st half. To the coaches credit and the Cats "never quit" play they were given the adjustments and executed in the 2nd half on the line.

Other SEC teams Line play on both sides of the ball is better and mostly quicker with more depth.

U.K will hopefully keep recruiting well and build the depth needed in the SEC (or other top conferences).

Personally, I see a very good job by Stoops and his staff. Anyone bashing them had, imo better remember where we were before.

BTW - I also really hope that Stoops will remain at U.K., I heard on one of the espnu shows that he was one person that was on South Carolina's list, not the top couple of names but yes, he was mentioned.

UK is still going to a bowl which was the goal for this season, it stinks today but just enjoy the ride, I think they pull off an upset before it's over.

This.

One of the Auburn running backs, Roc Thomas went to my high school. Oxford Yellow Jackets. He was Mr. Football.

Isn't he the one that was injured last night?
