October 16, 201511 yr Agreed! I honestly liked the play calling this game except for the run play with a minute to play. And the screen pass to start the drive.
October 16, 201511 yr That attempt at the long-ball on 3rd down was insane. Get the friggin 1st down. I would be curious to know if the long pass was option #1 on that play. Maybe there was a safer play that PT passed on. Hard to determine.
October 16, 201511 yr I had a feeling that the interception that stopped a TD drive in the first half would come back to haunt them. As well as the dropped pass just before the half that stalled a first down and gave the ball back to the Tigers....and led to 3 more points. :isurrender:
October 16, 201511 yr I had few complaints with Dawson until that final drive. He blew that. The only play would be the run that I qquestioned. I know people didn't like the deep pass however I doubt every reciever was going deep. Towles loves throwing the deep ball, so that was probably more Towles choice to take the chance on the deep route rather than a short route. It almost worked though.
October 16, 201511 yr I thought PT looked really good in the 2nd half (didn't see the first half) but he made a really bad decision on that 4th down run. Can't do it against speedy SEC DL and LBs. He made some great throws in the game though. Played well enough to get the W but still needs to be smarter.
October 16, 201511 yr The interception in the red zone in the first half was also a big difference in the game. Yep I agree.... So was the numerous drops along with the missed TD catch by Baker with a Perfect throw. Would of loved to seen our Punt team down the ball just 1 time inside the 10 to help the Defense. It takes a Village my friend and not just 1 costly Interception to Determine the outcome. UK is making strides but just aren't there yet.
October 16, 201511 yr I would be curious to know if the long pass was option #1 on that play. Maybe there was a safer play that PT passed on. Hard to determine. Same! Towles loves throwing the deep ball. He probably saw the one on one coverage and took the chance rather than seeing if something opened underneath. I doubt the play was only designed to be a deep ball. Which is why I only question the run play.
October 16, 201511 yr Well. It wasn't Ryan Timmons dropping the passes this year in crucial games. It's been Baker, Badet. But I guess they get no back lash like Ryan does??? UK beat UK
October 16, 201511 yr Very frustrating overall. On the one hand, UK has an upgrade in talent. On the other hand, this very winnable game would have been HUGE.
October 16, 201511 yr I do laugh about how Dawson "can't coach" yet UK put up over 400 yards of offense and was a dropped TD pass from 33 points. Scrub.
October 16, 201511 yr Very frustrating overall. On the one hand, UK has an upgrade in talent. On the other hand, this very winnable game would have been HUGE. Just like Florida.
October 16, 201511 yr Just like Florida. Both are frustrating losses. We're getting there though. Still the occasional self-inflicted toe removal but it's getting better.
October 16, 201511 yr I think PT could have connected with Badet on the last play. Bone was wide open about 10 yds. down the field just to the left of Towles and how he didn't throw to him I'll never understand. The man guarding Bone left him to come and make the tackle on Towles, so he had to see him I would think. Maybe he thought he had crossed the los, but he wasn't even close. UK just can't get over the hump...
