Auburn 30 Kentucky 27

If I'm a Kentucky WR Recruit I'm all In if I haven't decided yet. It showed tonight that there is still major need for Improvement across the board. Way too many Easy drops....There will always be bad throws and a drop or two but not the # of drops we witnessed tonight. Kentucky also needs to find more than 1 kicker that can find the EndZone on Kickoffs. Not 1 kickoff got anywhere close to the EndZone tonight. If 1 kick did then I Sneeezed and missed it. I know our Punts reached the Goal Line....

I missed the first half.

The drops I recall:

Dorian on the back shoulder pass in the EZ

Boom on the scramble pass

Dropped screen (that would have gone nowhere)

What others?

Okay. I was wondering why it didn't stop. When did that change or has it always been like that?

I have no idea. I've noticed it this year, and was befuddled also. Again I think I'm right, but heck Mack Brown was confused too.

Agree. But big time players make big time plays in big time games. Cliche enough? An Alabama WR makes that catch. Or LSU. Or Texas A&M. Thats the talent difference

I think you're overestimating how many kids make that catch.

Disagree. I think you are underestimating the difference between big time wideouts and middle of the pack ones.

How many tackles should we expect from the nose tackle position? Or is their job just to take up two blockers and free the LBs?

I really wish we could have those last two plays back. And the many costly dropped balls...

Kentucky has made a lot of progress and they are close, but just can't seem to make the plays to get over the hump. Could easily be 6-0 if not for dropped TDs.

When your safety leads the team in tackles (10) it can't be good.

The defense got shredded in the first half, but played rather well in the second half.

Offensively, they just made too many mistakes in the Red Zone. They get it at 2nd and 4 and with momentum and get a substitution infraction and backs them up to 2nd and 9 and settle for a FG.

In the first half, they had the missed PI and then Towels locks onto Baker and throws a pick in the end zone when he had Johnson wide open.

Just a little gripe on Towles...he really locks onto receivers and doesn't seem to go through his progressions with ease. Could be he doesn't trust his line or just struggles with it.

Stoops still has his hiccups as a coach. The 8 men on the field on the punt was ridiculous.

Everyone ranting on the draw play. I can live with it. They were bringing a blitz and had two safeties deep. Boom just got tripped up. He gets through that tackle he runs for 10 plus. First down and stops the clock. But the next play you have to go for the first down. You really can't go deep, in my opinion, because you can't lose sight of getting chunks of yardage to get into FG range.

We need to realize that UK is silly young of offense and still trying to develop SEC caliber DL.

Give Aubie credit, they made plays when they needed to. The bye week did them some good and got their QB some reps and they finally developed a passing game. They were highly ranked and have some talent. Cats had their chances, but they are making strides.

Completely of topic but I was not a fan of the helmets couldnt see the UK on the side at all.. Would love to see at mat black look

I love Boom but he needs to improve his receiving skills.

All WR's that try to run before catching the ball, kills me!

Not read the whole thread but I'll say this.

The 4th down play when Auburn punted sums up this coaching staff pretty well.

They are in over their heads.

I do laugh about how Dawson "can't coach" yet UK put up over 400 yards of offense and was a dropped TD pass from 33 points.

Scrub.

A lot of people can coach or call plays when everything is going good and you are in a rhythm.

Money is made when things are not going great or the pressure is on you, not the other team.......pressure burst pipes or makes diamonds........UK had some pipes burst on that final drive and punt by AU.

SEC talent, Big 12 coaching staff.......

I agree we had some drops, but when you look back at replays on a couple or three those drops, they would have been outstanding catches if held on to. The only two drops I thought were sloppy was short pass Baker missed and the one to Boom. Patrick threw behind some recievers, but over all played a pretty good game. Terrible play calling in both halves at critical times were killers.
