Auburn 30 Kentucky 27

I watched him on several plays. Was not impressed. On the TD run in the 2nd half' date=' he was late off the snap, handled single-handed by the C or OG, pushed back 2-3 yds and then shoved to the ground "I've fallen and I can't get up" style as the RB started to celebrate the TD. Color me unimpressed since seeing him live at John Hardin in HS. Pick in the end zone was a poor decision and poor execution. Scan 10 feet to the right and Juice Johnson (what a name) is 2 steps in front of his guy on basically the same route with nobody out in front of him (that I could see from the camera angle). Towles looked good for lots of plays. Drops were down & distance & momentum killers. Need to convert those. Staying in bounds on 1st down - stupid execution of a stupid play call. Run on 2nd down was too big of a risk -- particularly when they didn't urgently gain the LOS to run the 3rd down play. 4th down -- cannot try to run that. Feel pressure & leave the pocket to the left. Keep running parallel to the LOS and wait for a receiver to come open or draw a flag. Worst case, try to fit it in a hole to get a completion / draw a flag. On 4th down that late in the game, there is no use going to the ground with the ball. Even if you try to lateral it backward to a lineman, you at least keep the play alive for a "Stanford band" type of event.[/quote']

He could play bully-ball at JH, I'm bigger than you I can push you around. That won't work in college. They have to get him on a weight program, the potential is there.

Yes, I am absolutely, because its fact. It has been statistically correlated in study. You are confusing potential and performance. Or you just don't know the difference. Talent gives you potential. Performance is production. Not the same thing in any sport or any walk of life.

Fact? Where were Oregon, TCU, Utah, Boise and Baylor ranked the last 10 years?

Recruiting rankings in football don't mean everything in football. If they did Oklahoma would never lose to Baylor, USC wouldn't have lost to Washington, etc.

They are a projection. And lets be honest, if Alabama chooses to offer a kid and he commits, what are the chances that 247, ESPN, etc. are going to rate that kid a 4-5 star?

Your chances of having talent increase with star rankings, but I don't buy the notion that because some website said Auburn was infinitely more talented that UK that its true. Everyone is criticizing the coaching, and if they were way less talented and poorly coached no way they have a shot to win.

He just looks lazy to me. I may be wrong, but going back to his recruitment he just didn't impress me with how he handled himself and now looks like he is just overrated and lazy.

Again.........talent does not equal performance my man.

A big time D-I school should have a kicker that can get a touchback on the majority of their kickoffs--even if they aren't accurate enough to use on field goals.

You don't want to give SEC kick returners a shot at all.

Go Colonels..
Yep. What makes it fact is the statistical correlation the group rankings have with winning. I hate math but its math. :idunno:

Which the nice article you messaged me also says there are exceptions to that rule. So the math may have not worked out in your favor for that one to act like its 100% fact like you claim. I do like that article though it was a good read but it even states there are some teams where that is the exception.

What kind of logic is that? Oregon and TCU were as talented as any team last year not named Ohio State. Their recruiting rankings did not show that. You'd take Miami's roster over TCUs? You'd take Auburn's over what Oregon has had the last few years? Argument over.

It wasn't until Brook's four season until Kentucky had a winning record. Looking at the Brook years compared to Stoops I'd say they are ahead of schedule on top of still being young. They continue to prove that they are good enough to beat very good teams when they play well but aren't good enough/ready to overcome mistakes.

That is one of the best games I think Twoles has played. On the last play while watching it live I thought he felt pressure and just took off. In the replay it looked like he broke contain and was thinking about pulling up to throw. The problem was the LB closed so fast I believe he didn't feel like he could get the ball off. On the the 3rd down throw that is on him for the choice. The OC didn't tell him to take the shot. It was one of those plays that if it works you look like a hero with ice running through you. If it doesn't everyone thinks you're stupid. It was two kids trying to make a play and they just about did it. They dug themselves out of some holes and made some plays that I'm not sure Kentucky does in the past.

I think part of the reason some people are mad is because they see SEC ranking wise this is a year a team has a shot that maybe they normally wouldn't have.

Pro Football Focus - College grades each player by each play.

They said Elam played a good game at DT.

I'm sorry but play calling did not lose that game. Towles has a guy wide open and throws to wrong one for an interception in end zone. Drop a TD in 4th quarter that puts us in lead. Even though they went down and scored after FG. We would have ball back with 3 timeouts left if we catch TD. Haters hate and players play. They made the plays and we didn't.

I bet you think Memphis has more talent than ole miss too.

No Memphis has a heck of a QB and a great young coach.

TCU is more talented than Ole Miss or Auburn, and Oregon was with Kelley and his recruits.

So Memphis out-performed a more talented OleMiss. What a concept! Performance and talent aren't the same thing. I wonder who told you that before?

One game any team can win. Over the course of a season, the most talented team wins. 10 game series, Ole Miss wins most of the games, wouldn't you agree?
