September 15, 201511 yr If everyone posted, "oh I am so sorry" then this would not be a controversial issue. I am right there with EVERYONE wishing the family every peace possible at this time. The "controversy" part (that is for this forum I believe) is that we don't do MORE for this officer. There should be 20,000 people at his funeral - not at some anti-police rally. I cannot believe that people think I am comparing this tragedy to the Blake incident. I am comparing the public outrage. This one demands more. Sincere apologies for anyone who thinks I am thread jacking. In over 2000 posts I have never been accused of that. I am just trying to show where controversy may (IMO does) lie in this "Controversial Topics" forum. You are absolutely right. Although having "public outrage" about these attacks on officers will only make us resemble the idiots that are raging about bd cops killing innocent people. The energy needs to be focused on removing both groups from our society, and I just don't think a bunch of yelling and screaming to the press is going to do it.

September 15, 201511 yr As someone that listens with great interest and concern to a police scanner many nights that was really more than I could take...it hit really close to home for me. I pray to God that I never hear something like this real time...this was bad enough.

September 15, 201511 yr I watched the shooting of the news lady and the camera guy, I'm done watching/listening to that stuff. It chokes me up to think about it without the audio to make it worse. The evil in this world is real.

Don't think I can do it again. Same here, my mom was a dispatcher for about 15 years while my step dad was still a police officer. I've told her not to listen to it. A lot f things don't get to me but hearing that was very hard.
