Another (KSP) Officer Shot and Killed

Featured Replies

RIP Trooper.

I read that the Trooper graduated from the same academy class and worked the same post as the last KSP Trooper that died in the line of duty earlier this year. My God, I hope somehow his co workers and family can find a way to get through this.

Suspect is from Missouri...no motive for the shooting known at this point

Trooper Ponder was a star athlete at N. Hardin High. He turned down a track scholarship from WKU to join the Navy.

I wish the media would spend less time talking about the clerk who won't do her job and start talking about the Trooper who died doing his.

Sports Fan is correct when he points out it's not a sin to be controversial in a "controversial issues" forum. I may not agree with what he is saying, but it certainly is his right to sound off.

Thanks for all the updates Jumper_Dad.

This really shows officers can't take any stop for granted. You just never know. This probably started like hundreds of other stops Ponder likely made. For any of our LE members, please be safe.

Have they confirmed whether or not he was alone in the car during the traffic stop? I know I'd heard news reports that there may have been a woman and two kids in the car with him.

I had not read or heard that, I'm not sure.

It sure is. And it is our right to put him on an island as well.

All I'm saying is let's have free-wheeling discussions and quit worrying whether proper protocol is followed.

So, those who disagree are not allowed to, as in your words, have a "right to sound off"?

Start a thread about it then. Why thread jack this one?

But, back to the tragic event. Prayers out to the troopers family and friends. And I agree, these kind events should get the attention instead of a clerk.

I see no evidence that Sports Fan thread-jacked anything. He was commenting on the thread topic, not Walton-Verona girls basketball.
