Bluegrass Poll: Conway with slight lead over Bevin

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A new Bluegrass Poll shows Democrat Attorney General Jack Conway with a slight lead over Republican Matt Bevin in the race to be Kentucky’s next governor.

 

With 100 days until ballots are counted, Conway edges Bevin 45 to 42 percent. The poll — conducted for WKYT-TV, the Lexington Herald-Leader, the Louisville Courier-Journal, and WHAS-TV — asked 1,000 adults about the battle to replace term-limited Gov. Steve Beshear.

Governor Beshear has a 51% approval rating (33% disapproval), according to the Bluegrass Poll. I would think that has to somewhat benefit Conway.

True but KY's democrats generally elect pretty moderate governors, I believe the vast majority of KY past Dem Gov's over the past few decades wouldn't stand a chance in elections on the west coast or Northeast. Conway seems to lean a bit further left so they seem to have nominated a more "true" democrat this time around.

I think the lose to Mitch took a lot of steam out of the political says of Bevin. He may never recover from that slugfest.

R's really screwed up not electing Bevin but sending the old guard back to washington . And then expecting real change.

The KY polls have been basically useless over the last few election cycles. Dog fight to the end.
