Wireman Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 The top 8 in both major college football polls look like this: 1. Florida State (2 LW) [43 first place votes] 2. Alabama (4) [16] 3. Oregon (3) [1] 4. Mississippi State (1) 5. TCU (5) 6. Baylor (6) 7. Ohio State (8) 8. Ole Miss (10) 1. Florida State (2) [39] 2. Alabama (3) [17] 3. Oregon (4) [6] 4. Mississippi State (1) 5. TCU (5) 6. Baylor (6) 7. Ohio State (7) 8. Ole Miss (8) http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/florida-state-moves-to-no--1-in-both-ap-and-coaches-polls-192127676.html?soc_src=mediacontentstory&soc_trk=tw
DragonFire Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 My guess is they'll be 3rd in the CFP ranking though.
mcpapa Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Not a shocker. The top 4 would be my top 4, We will see in the committee follows suit.
Clyde Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Make the case for FSU being #1. Sell the committee on it.
ggclfan Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 FSU is ranked #1 and would probably be an underdog in Vegas on a neutral site against at least 4 or 5 of the other 7 teams in the top 8.
newarkcatholicfan Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Another case of struggling against a non rated team and still moving up.
PurplePride92 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Make the case for FSU being #1. Sell the committee on it. They are the only undefeated team from a Power 5 conference, they are the defending national champions and they still have the Heisman Trophy winner as their leader who, by the way, has never lost a game in his college career. If that ain't enough then nothing is.
Jumper_Dad Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 FSU deserve to be #1, end of discussion. If those 4 win out those four SHOULD be the Final Four! Bama and Miss St by far have the toughest games left...I could see either losing but I think they will win out.

If that ain't enough then nothing is. Come on. The fact they're defending national champs has no bearing. The fact they have a Heisman winner has no bearing. Undefeated has to be taken into account but so does the competition level, right? Who is the win you hold up to say "here's why we should be #1?" What win overcomes their schedule?

If that ain't enough then nothing is. Not a FSU fan, but totally agree with your assessment...
JokersWild24 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I'm still hoping the Steelers draft Jameis Winston so he has a couple of years to learn under Roethlisberger.
Irish Cat Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 While it is true the FSU has won all of their games, considering what we now know about Notre Dame, the fact that they came into Doak Walker and would have won if not for a controversial penalty call has to give you some pause regarding the Seminoles. Am I wrong that the Notre Dame game was supposed to be their big win at the time?
JBCousins Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 FSU is ranked #1 and would probably be an underdog in Vegas on a neutral site against at least 4 or 5 of the other 7 teams in the top 8. According to Vegas power rankings, only Alabama would be favored over FSU.
JBCousins Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Doesn't matter who is #1. I agree with their top 4 and think that is who the committee will have. Alabama, Oregon, or FSU could all make an argument to be #1.
