Florida State is No. 1 in Both Polls

Featured Replies

We know FSU's schedule hurts them. The false belief that the only good football is played in the SEC is what drives this though and IMO that's weak. And if you can't get a pass for being a Power 5 conference then tell people to quit saying Power 5 conferences. I've seen some "top" SEC teams play some crappy football this year.

Smart people would never say that the only good football being played is in the SEC.

The schedule matters. That's the only point I'm making.

Heck, FSU or OSU may be the best team in the country. We just can't tell.

Stephen A. wants FSU #1. That should tell all of you that you are wrong.

Herbstreit made an interesting point. Said MSU is going to have a hard time keeping #4 slot if a team like TCU or Ohio State wins their conference championship game.

From an excitement standpoint I'd love to see Bama, FSU, Ohio State, and Oregon. That would be fun.

Totally agree Clyde...that would be very entertaining.

But yet we trust and follow people to make these decisions for us.

Your point is lost on me because I know why FSU isn't respected. We're having two different conversations. I know why they are #3. Duh. I just cannot believe that people I feel are smarter than me watch the same football I watch and act as though the SEC is producing such a high quality that they are extended passes on crappy play when they shouldn't be extended those passes.

Those are the four most deserving teams in the top 4 that I have seen so far.

There are a couple of folks out there I feel intellectually inferior to. :D

I would love to see a Bama/OSU matchup. That would be awesome.

Bleacher Report said while we're one upset away from chaos, without an upset we're looking at the four playoff teams.

Fl. St. should have been #1 all year. They are defending champs and are undefeated. Miss. St had a nice run but I saw somewhere they werent

even preseason top 20.

None of this makes any sense. Why does last year and/or preseason matter?

Last year shouldn't matter.

Preseason matters more for the teams that we believe to still be "artificially high" if they started out too high to begin with.

Because they finished the year #1 and returned the Heisman trophy winner and have had high expectations all year starting off #1. Miss. St wasnt even ranked which means they were expected to be a middle of the road SEC West team like always. Bama, Auburn, LSU, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss were picked a head of them. FL. St has done nothing to lose the #1 ranking. They have beaten good teams. Doesnt matter how they do it they just do it. Until they are beaten they should be #1. No one loss team should have been ahead of them.
