I ate at Wunderbar! in Covington this past Saturday. It was AMAZING - all five of the folks I went down there with agreed completely. They hand-make traditional German and German-inspired cuisine. The menu changes somewhat on a day-to-day basis, depending largely on which sausages they've made; the whole menu and beer selection is written on a chalk-board behind the bar.

 

I started with a home-made soft pretzel ($4)...and that sucker was the size of a dinner plate. I've seen smaller birthday cakes. I ordered a side of spundekäs cheese dip for the pretzel, and four of use ended up splitting the one pretzel and dip. They've got plenty of German import beers, but I went with a 25oz Hudepohl Amber draft for $5. I ordered the hand-stuffed mettwurst and curry-wurst for dinner, with roasted potatoes on the side. They suggested that I tried the curry-ketchup with the potatoes, and it was pretty fantastic as well. I think my entree came out to $8...and I left stuffed.

 

That place TOTALLY deserves to be on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives....and I think I'm gonna become a regular.

 

Did this place used to be called Wertheim's Gasthaus Zur Linde? Or is this another German restaurant?

3. PeeWees (Ft.Mitchel?)

Incline Public House - Price Hill - next to PrimaVista. Best view in the city. Food is outstanding. I had a burger. Primo. Wife had a really good chicken chili. Small place. Nice deck for the summer.

At about 6:30 or so they were telling people it was a 3 hour wait.

If your ever in Rookwood (just north of Cincy) eat at Bronte Bistro. It's located inside the Joseph Beth book store. There is something on the menu for everybody. Great atmosphere. No tvs to distract from conversation.

Different place, Wertheim's is on 6th St, Wunderbar is at the Corner of 12th and Lee.

It was OK. Went with wings. They could have been a little more crispy. Jerk sauce is ok. Still can't find one to rival B-Dubs. Cajun seasoned fries were good. Good place to catch a game. big and TVs all over the place. Will go back, I will eventually have to order the deep fried bacon wrapped tater tots.

Giving Eli's a try for lunch today. I'll report later.

Anyone ever have the fried chicken at Nick's Grove on Taylor Mill Rd? It was a guilty pleasure when I lived in that neck of the woods.

Dunkers is decent and they have great TV's if you want to watch sports.

Incredible! Mac n cheese was perfect...mashed potatoes browned in the grill we're creamy. Pulled pork sandwich was big, and had the perfect amount of sauce. Sandwich, 2 sides, and a drink...$12
