Ryan Day poaches Michigan coach

Greg Mattison is the new DC at OSU. Day also hires former 49ers DB coach Jeff Hafley to be the co-DC.

Day is trying to grab another Michigan coach as well.

Day also added former Oklahoma St OC, the new OC/passing game coordinator at OSU.

After ranking 36th in S&P+ in 2013, then 78th in 2014, Oklahoma State’s offense climbed to 19th in 2015, then ranked in the top 10 each of the past three years. It peaked at No. 3 in 2017 with Mason Rudolph at quarterback. Yurcich helped develop Rudolph into a Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award winner who was chosen in this third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

I don't think that move endeared Bo Schembechler to Woody Hays.

As far as the two DC last year (Schiano and Grinch), Day told them they could stay on staff but neither would run the defense. Day is reworking the entire defensive staff minus Larry Johnson who was just promoted to Associate Head Coach.

And here I was led to believe last offseason that Schiano was such an amazing coach and any program would be lucky to have him running the show. :lol2:

If he gets Al Williams to take over the LB duties they will have a pretty good lineup even it does mean we took 2 coaches from TTUN!

Wow! Day just took a rising star and Michigan’s elite recruiter. Zach Harrison, the 5 star product from Columbus almost went to Michigan because of Al Washington alone.
