Colonels_Wear_Blue
~3000 students attend the school. Fire and rescue stated that there are 20+ "victims", and the shooter is confirmed to be still at large. Initial reports that the shooter may be a recent graduate of the school. CNN is currently interviewing a recent graduate that was there during the shooting. What a weird scenario.

Science Friction
Unfortunately, I think that every time one of these school shootings happens, the next one becomes more likely. I'm sure there's a cumulative copycat effect.
plantmanky
Going to Naples every year just some notes on Florida Schools. Most of them have outside hallways and the schools are open. As in you can just walk out the door and get in your car/parking lot, off campus very easily. Most of them are very busy around the schools, so someone could do this and leave very quickly. JDEaston
I've been watching this ambulance that is transporting the suspect to the hospital on fox's live feed for ten minutes or so now. They seem to be taking the scenic route, hopefully his/her condition is critical and they may not make it to the ER in time to "save" them. On a more serious note, there has to be a way that we can better secure the nations schools. You don't see these type of shootings at sporting events, etc and that is a much larger venue than a school. If we can deter people from doing tragic things like this at major sporting events then surely we can do the same for schools.
oldgrappler
We need to change the culture. People used to have more respect for human life. Why are kids growing up so angry and then come to the place where they are willing to take the life of another person?
Colonels_Wear_Blue
Senator from FL reporting "multiple casualties." Shooting took place in the freshman building on campus just before dismissal. CNBC had Senator Bill Nelson down as saying "multiple fatalities". They also have the local fire chief saying one person is dead. Twitter
