2A #1 Christian Academy-Louisville at 2A #10 Newport Central Catholic

The top ranked Centurions (4-0) continued to impress with a 24-9 come from behind win over 3A #3 Elizabethtown. CAL's defense surrendered only 132 yards and 9 points to an E-Town squad that topped 50 pts in each of its first two games. RB Tyler Harris paced the defending champs with 122 yards rushing and 2 TDs (1 rushing, 1 receiving).

NewCath (2-2) comes in limping a little after a 54-29 loss to 4-time defending 3A champion Belfry. QB Paul Kremer was certainly a bright spot for the 'Breds, throwing 4 TD passes against the Pirates.

This will be the third all time meeting between these two programs. The first two occurred in the 2nd round of the playoffs in 2009 and 2010. NewCath was victorious both times.

Hope the Breds work on tackling this week in practice, or we might see the same result as in the Belfry game.

CAL, easily

CAL is big, fast and well coached.

Guess NCC should forfiet. I will be willing to say this game will be a lot closer than what's thought on here. But at the end of the yr this could dang well be a preview of 2a state finals!! Yea Danville an LCA will have the same chance. That's why you play the game!

It won't be close. CAL is really good.

That's Good. I respect them. But I also know belfry was pretty dang good. I think they would beat CAL. AN we was inside the 20 in the 2nd qt getting ready to take the lead an a huge TO TURNED THE TIDE!

Like I said I hope you give NCC probs if they make to play in the finals. Your a NKY guy right?

The coach at CAL is outstanding. Saint X should have hired him instead of Wolford.

When Beatty leaves Trinity my hope is they try and get the CAL coach to Trinity.

Should be a good game. Should be fun to get a preview of the playoffs in September. Not all schools are willing to schedule these types of games in the same division.
