Keeping the Friday night games intact and moving tonight's games to Saturday must be an expense thing. Tickets for Friday printed and distributed to the schools. Would be added expense to change those in addition to the tix now being reprinted and distributed for Saturday. Just my guess.

NKU will be the starting point. Threads like this one will be numerous for Ben over the next 8 months. Great move by NKU. Never going to have a chance to get player's of this caliber if you don't make the offer.

Could we find one, just one NCC poster that would talk about how good their team currently is? Enough with attacking everything said about HHS. The program at HHS is not where it once was, and certainly not where we want it to be. When your down, you look and hope for better things in the future. Maybe someone can post how dominate NCC's defense was. How well they attacked the basket. How well they rebounded the ball and got second chance points. How well Moeves, Anderson, Freppon, etc.... compliment the big three. (See how I did that without disparaging another teammate) Quit whining and responding to the comments of the opponent, celebrate what you have now. It won't last forever.

HHS pressured Dayton from the opening tip, and after a very ugly first quarter ( 6-0 ), the game quickly got out of hand. It was 18-0 before Dayton hit a three pointer. At 24-3 midway through the second quarter, already 11 different players had seen action for Highlands. The halftime score was 40-11. The starters played 3 minutes into the second half and then watched for the balance of the game. It was a running clock with 4 minutes to go in the third quarter. Thirteen players saw action in the game for HHS. The fact that the Birds were able to put DHS away early in the second quarter allowed Coach L to give significant minutes to the JV players. This group did not get an opportunity to play their final 2 games (Scott-snow, Beechwood- senior night boy/girl DH). A nice move to get them the minutes that they missed out on last week.

The safe answer is none. Wouldn't have played out well for those making that claim last year. Both Conner and HHS pulled off the upsets.

Any upsets possible in these games? Who crashes the party at BOK next week?? Cooper - Conner St. Henry - Lloyd Holmes - Holy Cross Newport - Bellevue All the 3 seeds have double digit wins and are capable. I will not be surprised if one or two of the 3 seeds pull an upset.

Well let's take this one at a time. WR - not just one, but 3 returning wide outs that were significant contributors last year. Cain, New, and Miller are all top notch. TE - rarely used in the last two years. No need if you have 3 or more stud receivers. RB -Kendall as you listed in the above post. CB/S - Beal is a returning starter, will be interesting to see which role he fills. LB - Dougherty as you listed above. Several others returning that played significant minutes. (Dressman, Welsch, Ziegler)

Tonight's boy/girl doubleheader on senior night was also the last game in the gym as it currently exists. The FTBOE voted today to go forward with the renovation of the locker rooms, gymnasium, and to add a larger foyer to the existing area. It will include an updated and extended façade. The balcony area behind the visitor's basket will be removed, eliminating that storage area and thus eliminating that small 3 foot dangerous area under the basket. It will be opened up and have more out of bounds room. The bleachers will be replaced and will become much more friendly and safe for those that want to sit up higher in the stands. Many of the older less nimble fans have been relegated to sitting in the front row for fear of falling trying to climb the bleachers. Steps and railings will be part of the new stands. Also, new HVAC for the sweatbox.

A very entertaining game that the Birds were able to get a victory. Nice for the seniors to get a win in their last game at home. Kenny Ball with a couple of deep three's early to keep the Tigers from pulling away. Harris with his usual scoring and rebounding contribution. Weyer with several steals, assists, and 7 points to aid the cause. It wasn't easy as Brock was on fire in the first half, and Jacob Huff had a great second half. Huff is a very underrated player. Very good scorer. Last year I thought he was limited to just shooting the 3, but he has a nice all around game. Bryce Traylor with a break out game for the Birds. A couple of three's in the second half and 4 free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.

School districts like Boone are making decisions base on the safety of all the kids. While the conditions may be ok for high school aged kids to safely attend class, it may not be the same for the youngest kids at the elementary levels. School systems can not pick and choose which schools to close. Saw quite a few of the private high schools were in session yesterday. Makes a difference when you are not crossing such a wide age range.

Pigskin Junkie's son sounds exactly like my son and the choices he is making right now. Had talked with Rose Hulman and Centre over the fall/winter months. Visited Centre. Has decided not to continue with football. Just wants to be a student. Now it comes down to accepting an academic offer to one of these private schools or from a state school. Schools like Centre, Rose Hulman and Dayton are just under $50,000 a year for tuition and room/board. Takes one hell of an offer to equal the monies one can get from an in state public university.

Thanks for your concern, but your not correct. Highlands senior night is Friday. Come on out and support the senior boys basketball players, senior cheerleaders, and senior members of the dance team. Going to be a great night.

Way to go out on a limb here since 7 of your top 10 are seniors.

I've seen all the players on all your lists and I was just getting ready to throw a wrench in all your lists, then Clyde goes and mentions the young man that really impressed me. Make some room on the top ten list for Michael Scott from Conner. He just gets it done. Plays with so much poise. Has good size and handle. Scores without taking a ton of shots. Very efficient.

I am officially going to authorize a ... 10a. 10b. 10c. 10d. so we can all be happy.

One of our fine coaches sent in a ballot like this........ 1. NCC 2. Covington Catholic 3. Dixie / Holmes 4. Heritage 5. Ludlow 6. Bellevue 7. Dayton 8. Covington Latin 9. Highlands 10. Could be any of the teams listed. This would explain the point totals for all the teams listed that we wouldn't expect to be in the poll. Maybe they were trying to be funny or making a point of some type.

Funny to laugh at HHS down there with 2 points, below Cov Latin and Heritage. Just hilarious. I'll submit that they should have zero 0 - like Beechwood, Brossart, Walton, and Ryle. I can come up with 13 teams without much thought that should be considered in a N Ky top 10. All the other teams getting votes or even being listed as others receiving votes invalidates the poll.

To even publish a poll like this is a waste of time. If the coaches that vote don't take it serious enough to put the teams in the correct order, then the person compiling the data should just do away with the results. It makes the group look silly to post the teams in this order.
