  1. There it is guys. The Gospel according to Grey Fox. How appropriate on this Sunday morning. No reason to make adjustments. No reason to make changes. No reason to work hard, look for solutions and maximize potential, cause it won't change a thing. Well maybe that's how you roll at Cooper but that isn't how things are done in Fort Thomas. Our expectations are a bit higher. Waiting for next year or the year after occurs when this season is over. It isn't close to over.
  2. Under legislation passed this year, pharmacists may dispense naloxone without a prescription. It must be under a protocol signed off on by a physician at least once per year. Similar to the methods used to administer vaccinations. A pharmacist can be asked for the product by a relative, friend, or any other first responder and dispense the RX item without having to contact a physician.
  3. What are your thoughts on the provider status laws that will be given to pharmacists? Will you be participating?
  4. I don't suspect the "haters" are going to comment on the win as they didn't comment when HHS had the bad loss at Campbell earlier in the year. Wins and losses are not their issue. Highlands played with much more energy and simply out hustled the Pandas. It was an impressive effort by HHS. Birds were up 2-0 at half. Goals by Dougherty and Meyer. NDA closed the gap to 2-1 with a goal by Watts with 20 minutes to play. Meyer netted her second goal of the day a few minutes later to close out the scoring. Meyer #10 from HHS & Tierney #7 from NDA each had great games.
  5. If these are my choices-- I'll go with cautiously optimistic. I know the senior players. I know the coaching staff. There is enough talent and coaching expertise to compete. I'll trust that the coaches will continue to make adjustments and the players will respond. I expect an effort and result closer to that of the Ryle game.
  6. ^^^ Let me see if I get the point. You can post erroneous information as to make an excuse for calling for a team to run up the score if possible. I think the original post stated that SK should score as many points as possible since the last time these two team met HHS won 70-0. Now the facts. Last played in 1998. Game was at SK and the final was 28-12. Seems like a competitive score against the team from Ft Thomas. It was actually the least number of points scored by HHS all season. That said, if you want to inflame those not interested in fact checking, feel free to post random information to justify your silly posts.
  7. "Rock bottom: the sequel" is now in the rear view mirror. Time to find your best 15-16 football players and have them play every offensive and defensive snap. Use the balance of the roster for special teams and injuries. If that means Hergott's 6'4" 225 frame is patrolling the defensive backfield at safety or playing some defensive end, so be it. If that means 3 or 4 linemen are going both ways, ok. Not the HHS way, but drastic times call for drastic measures.
  8. Please define "rebound"? Is that win their next state championship? Is it to regain position at the top of N Ky rankings? The district football season hasn't even started as of yet, and the Birds are being dismissed. At this point no one is even sure the Birds won't proceed as deep in the playoffs as any other N Ky large school. I'll wait and see if the term rebound even applies.
  9. No one is hiding. As a group we tend to celebrate the successes. Hasn't been much to celebrate this season. Any discussions on here have quickly taken a very negative tone which is unbecoming of the true fans. There is no way to sugar coat the start of the season. If the result of this weeks game is similar to weeks 1-5 then you will not see a bunch of HHS posters being very active. You can depict it as hiding. I will describe it as waiting for something positive to build upon.
  10. Apologies to all those that read my prediction in the pre-game thread and garnered hope. I expected to see continued improvement. If the Ryle game was one small step forward, this game was three giant steps back.
  11. I have the same opinion as TDY. The Birds will play much better tonight. A win is definitely not out of the question. This is week 2 of a tough 3 week stretch against very good 6A competition. Adjustments being made. Team getting better. Looking for improvement, not perfection.
  12. The top of the poll is solid. Four through thirty two up for debate. Someone has to be ranked and you can find a reason to vote for or against all the schools in the class. One question for the group: If 4-0 #9 North Laurel faced 0-4 unranked CovCath on a neutral site who you think wins??
  13. There is no federal funding being used for the residency check portion of this position. The Title 1 funds are being used to pay the Achievement Coordinator portion of the position. This is a win-win for FTIS. The system has Title 1 funds to pay the majority of the salary for this classified position. Residency checks are only about 20% of the total position created.
  14. Just read a thread where the word faze was used to describe to current situation of a football program. I thought the poster must have meant phase. I didn't even think the spelling of faze was really a word. Well it most definitely is. I wonder how many times I have incorrectly typed the word phase when my intent was more of the meaning of the word faze?
  15. My opinion of what changes need to occur does not matter. My opinion of who needs to change does not matter. Ultimately it comes down to the coaches who have worked with these boys for years to put them in the spots to maximize the potential of this roster. What is obvious is that if no changes do occur, we can expect to see the same results. Sure the schedule lightens up a bit in three weeks and the Birds can put a few W's on record, but no one at HHS will be satisfied with a couple of playoff games and an early exit.
  16. There is not one fan on this board that has stated that the Birds are up. What you have heard is that they can play better and need to make further changes. No one has wavered since week 1 on their assessment of HHS.
  17. That is the worst attempt at an explanation ever. Pete needs to stand up and take credit for idiotic move #2 .
  18. I love Austin Beal as a football player, and his play making ability is very evident. I do not understand the obsession with moving him to the offensive side of the ball. Believe it or not, Kendall-Cain-Murray-Miller, etc are very good high school playmakers. The offense has not been able to get these kids the ball in situations that allow them to showcase their talents. Is Cain hurt? If not, please find a way to get the young man the ball.
  19. As a HHS fan I am not going to be as negative as some of the others. HHS has lost 3 of 4 and all three have been by similar margins. Cooper handed the Birds a 24 point defeat. Cooper dominated both sides of the ball. The Scott Co margin was 26 points. I have heard the game described as "uninspired play" and "going through the motions". Phrases never associated with HHS football. Changes being made. More to come. Ryle with a 24 point victory. Though the margin is similar the path to that end result was much different. The Birds were in the game. They didn't play up to the standard we Birds fans are accustomed to, but it was better. Ryle is a very good team. The score was tied at half. It was a running clock at half in Georgetown. Week one of the three week stretch before the district play begins and HHS played better. I expect to see improvement again in each of the next two weeks. I expect to see more changes. Thank goodness we have quality opponents like Ryle, St X, and SK to test the process.
  20. The scoreboard shows a 24 point victory for a team that was up just 10 with 5 minutes to play. HHS in desperation mode (on side kick and going for it on 4th down in their own territory) enables Ryle to tack on two late scores. If anything the game was closer than the scoreboard indicates.
  21. I think tonight begins a process. A process of seeing what impact having players ready if needed to play both sides of the ball. I don't think all the changes that could be made will be seen tonight. I don't think all the changes tried this evening will stick. The first three games were very important to expose weakness. Those games have necessitated change. Plenty of time in the season to make the adjustments. We shall see. The next three weeks are equally as important. These games against quality opponents will further define positions, PT, and rotations. By game seven the record may not be pretty, but things will have shaken themselves out. This is when the push toward the playoffs begins.
  22. How about Dougherty kicks it. From what I saw earlier this week there is nothing wrong with his legs. If the injury he sustained last week to his shoulder keeps him from kicking this week then I need a new set of eyes.
  23. How so?? Contempt charges were for her office not issuing licenses. Office now issuing licenses. What grounds is there to keep her in contempt if plaintiffs have been issued a marriage license?
  24. What am I missing about the QB playing time? Stoops said both were going to play. He didn't say both would play only if Towles performed poorly. He didn't say both would play if the score was lopsided or the game was not in doubt. Plenty of series for Barker to show what he could do in the second, third or even fourth quarter. I am confused based on the statements made by the head coach.
