  1. Change that I'm referring to has little to do with pass/run ratio or play calling.
  2. A program that was 1 or 2 players not showing up and it would have folded, to a 3-0 start with a win over Bellevue. WOW. This is really incredible. Congrats to all those that believed in the future of the Mustang football program.
  3. It was going to take a couple of beat downs for HHS staff to go away from a system and a philosophy that has been the trademark of an unprecedented run of success. Those beat downs have now happened. My crystal ball envisions changes. Utmost confidence in the coaching staff to maximize potential of this roster. Time will tell.
  4. I think this is similar to the rulings years ago concerning Plan B before it became available over the counter. Pharmacists were not legally obligated to sell the product but were to have someone working with them at the time that would make the sale. Now this is a mute point since the product is carried OTC.
  5. The bottom line for this season are the games against CovCath. HHS is going to struggle the next three weeks. Grant, Dixie and Boone are games that HHS should win. CovCath game 1 determines ultimate seed and location of game 2 if both teams advance. The winner of that game is already in state quarters. Younger kids are going to need to grow up in a hurry. Baptism by fire . No Hergott, no Cain, no Dressman, no Dougherty = No chance. Doesn't matter who is coaching and which side of the ball they coach.
  6. Don't have any details yet, but the KHSAA scoreboard has Ryle over Highlands 1-0. Thought the game was tonight. Save yourselves some time and money since we already know the result before it is played.
  7. So is the whole premise of this story that the employee in the clerk's office didn't ask for a drivers license. Is there even a story here. The RC county clerk thought she was signing a license for a hetero couple. I guess that is why all the posts in the thread have nothing to do with the title.
  8. Bellarmine did a great job at recruiting Ben and in return they are getting a steal. The staff at Bellarmine made Ben a priority. They did a fantastic job at selling their program - both basketball and academics. They focused on what was important to Ben. Bellarmine competes at the very top of D2. Play at a level better than the bottom 1/3 of the D1 game. I for one am glad Ben did not get caught up in the D1 hysteria. Like most have already said this is a great fit for both school and player. Congrats Benjamin. Have a great senior year.
  9. Come on the site to read about what others think about this weeks match up and get five pages of garbage. Come on guys. Give us a prediction, back it up with some reasoning and stimulate intelligent responses. Liked quite a few things about what the Birds were able to do after a slow start last week. Like going back to a huddle ( not sure when the last time I saw that out of a Bluebird team ). Seemed to settle them down a bit. Will also let them eat up a bit of clock which will be much needed this week. We do not need to get into a shootout with Scott Co. It will not end up well. Win the turnover battle. Limit penalties. Control the LOS. Avoid SC big plays. All easier said than done. Must hold SC to under 30 to win.
  10. Birds will even their record tonight playing at home. Offense needs to sustain some drives, defense needs to help win the field position battle, and dominate on special teams. Limit turnovers and penalties. Adjust, improve, and move forward.
  11. To answer the thread question, pretty much anything is possible, but it is very improbable. HHS will play better this week and even their record. Being at DCM this week is just what the doctor ordered. Birds will use this game to move forward. No predictions beyond that. Will have to reevaluate for game 3 after tonight.
  12. Joat relax and quit taking all these posts as personal attacks to the HHS defense. To anyone that was there, it was obvious that the HHS O put the D in some bad situations. Three and outs, turnovers, and short fields will result in giving up points. I thought the D played reasonably well. Some better tackling on the edge and it would have been an even better effort. The O has playmakers. Kendall and Cain proved last year that they can make things happen. Kendall needs to get a hole to run through. He needs to be in space to make kids miss and use his speed. Cain needs the ball. HHS has to figure out a way to get it to him on the move, then watch out. Last nights playbook was paper thin and very few things worked. Credit - Cooper defense. For those discrediting Cooper's effort by saying they were not even top 10 in Northern Ky this year - well that poll was as incorrect as HHS being unanimous #1 . HHS has plenty of work to do while Cooper needs to springboard off this win to bigger and better things.
  13. I have trouble getting passed the numbers he uses in his example. His team has been so successful on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down that he is left with 4th and 8. Now he has a 50% chance of making a first down with his 4th down play???
  14. 4 - 8th graders in the last 6 years. Average of 40 kids on the HHS frosh team each year. 4 out of 240 = 1.66%. Rare.
  15. I'm going with rare to move up at HHS. I can only think of 3 in the last 6 years. Nick True - size mattered. Bo Hebel - size and strength Brycen Huddleston - athletic ability and physical aggressiveness
  16. I have watched the last 5 season opening scrimmages for the Birds. They have not looked good in any of the 5. The four previous being against Trinity and last night with Cincy St X. The difference in week two is usually quite remarkable. It seems to be part of the HHS formula for success. Results speak for themselves. I predict a Bluebird win. Not a blowout, maybe a two score game.
  17. The series that included the bad snaps was NOT played by Evan Richardson. He was money with his snaps all of last year, and was excellent again last night.
  18. HHS last lost was against Elder on October 24th. Dang those 8A Florida teams and those Cincinnati GCL south football factories.
  19. You have not added one specht of information to this thread. I exspecht more from you. Stop worrying about coaches and spechtulate on who will win the scrimmage.
  20. Doesn't matter how many likes the above post receives or how many people agree with type of generalization....... That post in no way describes the young ladies choosing to step away from the soccer program at HHS nor does it even come close to describing the parents of these girls. You can try to lump these type decisions into one pot all you want but there are instances when kids are better off not playing. I hope all those that think this is such an easy decision never are put in the situation these girls are up against.
  21. The Cougars and the Bluebirds were scheduled for a 7 v 7 last Friday? No report as of yet on the board. Did it take place? Who's got a report? Last years thread was a classic.
  22. Should it be allowed?? - Yes, I am not for any rule that would be so restrictive as to prohibit a coach from doing both. Should it be avoided?? ABSOLUTELY
  23. Don't you actually have to catch the ball for it to come loose????
