I don't think JOAT is interested in rehashing the QB discussion. There are 12 athletes on the list and none are named Beau Hoge. No Moore from Dixie but there is a another athlete from that team. Not a popular thing to question the BGP team but if I am putting together a team and Hoge or Moore do not meet the criteria (not nominated) I would nominate them myself or ask another member to make the nomination to make sure the team included the 2 best players from the area.

Waiting to hear the extent of Harris' injury. Not related to the stress fractures he was dealing with up to this point. May be much worse and possibly season ending. Hoping for the best for Parker and his family. With Parker out, Justin will need to score and rebound and lead. The team played fairly well after Parker went out, but Coach L is running out of options. Now we have Parker Harris, Jared Dougherty, and Bryce Traylor all out. Finneytown comes across the river to play the Birds this evening.

Bo Hebel - 2 year starter as a junior. Played DT as a sophomore and was a Guard this season. Great football player.

Clyde has posted quite a few times that he thought McNeil was the best pure shooter in the region. Got my first look at him last night. He passed the eye test (good size for a shooting guard) and scored within the offensive sets. Didn't force anything. Good call Clyde.

Thanks CSF - the boys will be fine. They will continue to play hard and compete against the 2nd tier teams in the region. Cooper has a really nice team. Much bigger than I expected. Their size advantage is on the perimeter. Leichty and McNeil are much bigger than I thought they would be. They shoot the ball well. Hit quite a few mid range jumpers off screens- a lost art in today's game of basketball. Broke the game open with full court pressure. HHS wilted. Terrible spacing and played right into the Jags hands. Lots of turnovers and easy Cooper baskets. Those HHS fans concerned over the scores of the CovCath, Cooper, and Dixie games need a reality check. Same will happen against NewCath and possibly Holmes. The games to evaluate are games against the second tier. These boys played well against St Henry. Got a couple of wins and a close loss down in Oldham Cty in a tourney against teams with like talent/size.

You ask this question, I'll answer. HHS has a 8 or 9 man rotation of the 8/9 guys that are best prepared to compete on the varsity level today. I would be very surprised and disappointed if 8 games into the season, after the recent 2 losses to top 5 ninth region contenders that Kevin would do anything but stay the course. If the younger kids were the better option they would have started the season in the rotation. As JOAT indicated, the JV group has not been successful (scored 1 point in the last 9 minutes of the first half last nigh) so why move them up against bigger stronger guys. Q - -- you know first hand the challenges that exist at HHS. How would you respond had JOAT or I suggested that our boys get more exposure 8 games into your son's senior season? I'm guessing the exact same way I am - that the boys playing then gave HHS the best opportunity to win.

Incorrect. Please follow along - they are talking about 7th grade. St Joe did not beat HMS. I'll echo the thoughts of Mex and Q -- the 7th grade team at HMS is much improved. Scraped the motion offense that they were running at the beginning of the year and are now executing a high/low game. They have been very good of late. Record is now like 16-2.

I thought Murrer was an offensive tackle only.

Does the AP release the actual vote totals? Would this vote be done by the same 24 voters that selected the all-state team? Would be interesting to see if the vote was close?

There are only 3 or 4 teams in the Ninth Region that can keep it close with the Breds. None of which are named Holy Cross or Newport. 25 + point victories each night.

Are they playing in the All A tourney in mid-January? Can they match up with NCC?

I love reading these responses defending the selections and the reasons for the omissions. Post on guys - its entertaining. The same group that picks Mr Football from the seven finalists that are listed puts the only wide receiver that is a finalist as an HM player. Chew on that for a while.

How about all of them? or any of them? Alex was one of seven finalists for Mr Football. That list included 3 QB's and 3 RB's. He was the only wide receiver.

Nine players from Pulaski Co. and 2 players from an entire region of the state. Five players from Shelby Valley that was smoked by little ole NCC who apparently has no players worthy of mention. I would be embarrassed to be a part of putting out such a list.

It was posted on this site that Venneman was one of the seven finalists for Mr. Football. A Mr. Football finalist is an HM player. A bit disconnected.

Congrats to Beau Hoge (2nd team) and Alex Venneman (HM) for being the ONLY 2 players from all N KY schools to be on the list. Really AP voters -- there are almost 150 kids listed and Northern Ky schools represented by 2 young men. Seems a bit biased against.

Woodland versus HHS will happen twice. Boys - Jan 20th at HHS and Feb 5th at Woodland

TCC scouted the Birds the day before against Danville. The day the Birds were 1 for a zillion from outside. Bad decision - Ball was 7 for 9 from behind the arc. Most were NBN. Everyone played well. The seniors Ball, Harris, and Weyer combined for 47 points.

That's a tab bit callus. I know that Bluebird basketball has been down for a while, but these boys are working as hard as any group that has come before them. If you want to put things in perspective, no game before the elimination games begin in the district tournaments are of any importance.
