St. Henry has my vote. They had a chance to win the big state tournament that year and fell short by I believe 1 point to Chris Loften and Mason County in the first round who if I remember right won the state tournament that year. Correct me if I am wrong.

I would go with the top 5 being something like this. 1. Shelby County 2. Anderson County 3. South Oldham 4. Gallatin County 5. Simon Kenton Others: Owen County, North Oldham, Spencer County, Henry County

I would say Shelby has to be the favorite, but Owen could be a dark horse to win the 8th region. Not sure about the Oldham's but Gallatin only graduated one senior correct? If I remember right they were pretty young last year.

Are the Brown kid and Edmonson kid coming back. They seemed to be the bruisers of the bunch.

Good to see the 31st district represent well once again. It seems that since the realignment the 31st district with the 'small schools' has done very very good in the region tournament. Good luck to Henry and to Owen in the Semi's.

I was very sarcastic when I said Jones was a underrated player by the way.

Maddux wasn't a 100 percent but he still impacted the game. He scored 9-10 i believe, and with Jones picking up the slack (as he has being doing as an underated player), I'll take GC in a very close one by 4. Free throws will make the difference. If HC wins I will eat my crow because they are a worthy contender.

Maddux played. Looked a little stiff though.

This should be a great environment to play in. Two big rivals for the All "A" title. Its hard to beat a team three times, and both wins before were very close games. Should be another fun to watch game. Hats off to Coach Roberts for getting the girls from GC back competing again.

I agree. Video looks good. Any problem that Henry County has should be towards the ref's. Clock keeper was right.

Gallatin couldn't seem to score for about 2 1/2 quarters. Props to Owen County's defense. Jones started a Gallatin run, and I believe they were within 4 at one point, but Gallatin couldn't do much more. I think with Maddux they might have been able to find that scorer they needed in the 1st half, and the beginning of the 2nd. Good win for Owen County.

A point to ponder. I know it will change now that the holiday games are over but as of now only 3 teams in the eighth region have played 50% or more of their games against other 8th region teams. First congrats to Carroll on a big district win. As I've said in other post, senior led teams are usually hard to beat and when talking about the smaller schools like Carroll, Gallatin, Trimble, ect... juniors can be put into that catagory. Coach Yeager did not inherit an empty cupboard, this current team knows how to win. They were my preseason pick to win the All "A" and the district, both at home. That hasn't changed however Gallatin is better than I thought they would be (because of their youth).
