  1. Holmes has to good of a defense. I'll go with Holmes 58-52 in a hard fought final.
  2. Being ranked the #1 team in the region for the best part of the year from the begining, I'ld say they were in the mix if not the favorite. I think every team in the 8th lost a great deal of experience last year, with SK leading the pack.
  3. Not only did Coach Jones put a schedule together (for the last 3 years) that would have the boys ready, he and his staff were ready and out coached Coach Drury and staff. Super job!!! Get 5-6 down, call a time out, make a fix and now it's tied. Didn't happen on the other side. Congrats to Jones and staff.
  4. Penny is unstopable on the blocks but for having a complete game I'll take Maddox. Not only did he out play him last night, he is a better player because he is not one dimensional.
  5. Also, David Henson did a really nice job, D-ing up on C.J Penny I thought. He played alot of the game, and while he didn't score, he was one of the reasons Penny was held under 20.
  6. Wow! What a team effort tonight. Scott Brown played shut down defense, Taylor Jones was clutch with some very big buckets, Jared Carloton got every rebound when it counted, Zac Jones played a huge role, hitting big buckets, and Trent Maddox once again took control of the game, and had a very big night. What a great game to see!
  7. This has to be the most balanced 8th region tourney ever.
  8. Don't count North out. They are playing pretty good.
  9. Gallatin is 8-2 against the field this year. That is the good news. The two losses came against N.Oldham and Anderson Co. Makes for a very interesting lower bracket.
  10. Why did I ever doubt the Litkenhous ratings? Good job SC
  11. Welcome to the site Madluc. Do you know how many seniors Owen has? Congrats to GC, beating Owen Co. as well as Owen had been playing was no small feat.
  12. When is the last time Oldham Co. did not make it to the region tournament?
  13. I will take Gallatin by 12, but I am impressed with Grant County beating Newport. Should be a good one in Dry Ridge.
  14. It is really just simple math. Do you want the $10 - $20 from these families two or three times a year or do you want $0. after all the costs of equipment, officials, uniforms is not going down. It doesn't matter how much it cost to go to a movie if you don't go.
  15. O.K. --- Having a gym full of students cheering your team on PRICELESS!
  16. Who is the best non A school in the 16th?
  17. Their chances of winning it all just got better. Thanks
  18. I wonder if any of the AD's will ever wake up and let students in for free? 3rd grade math. EX. 1 - Family of 5, (three students) $5 each for the parents $2-$5 for the students = I can't take my family to ball games. EX. 2 - Family of 5, (three students) $5 for parents, students free = $10 for the athletic dept. + 5 fans and concession money. The $10 plus concession money beats $0 everytime.
  19. What would be a good draw? Alot of balance across the board.
  20. I think that Gallatin Co is good enough to take the eighth but there are not going to be any good draws, and I think Gallatin Co will have a very hard time putting together 3 games together in three nights. Hope that they can, but they don't have the depth I think they would need.
  21. I knew you was a Gallatin Co. fan all along.:ylsuper:
  22. Using the litkenhous ratings as a guide (since I have no other) I'ld say it would be a toss-up.
  23. Oldham is not in the 8 listed but nobody picked them last year either. I would not doubt that by years end they will be hard to beat again.
