My sentiments exactly...I can only imagine how GC has to feel. You have to hurt for them, but man, how many teams would love to have made it as far as you did.

Man, I hate this for the Gallatin County folks. Been in the same spot, regional finals, twice with my Owsley County Owls ('83 and '85). Shelby County has been to the state tournament numerous times, and a small school has that ONE chance to make it, and then to fall one point short.:cry: Nothing against the Shelby County kids because they work hard and deserve everything they get, but this is a bummer.

A native of my county who has been a resident of Gallatin County for a long time, and is a rabid Wildcat fan, is no doubt crushed right now.

Just got back from game. Shelby stole the game from Gallatin. Shelby down 2 with 12 secs left. Gall at line misses FT, Shelby comes down hits a shot and fouled on shot. Shelby hits FT with 6 secs. Gall races up court misses a three and Sheby wins. On to State for Shelby. GO ROCKETS

Has to be a brutally tough loss for the Wildcats and their fans (again) tonight.

 

This team has had more heartbreak and disappointment in the last couple of years than any program deserves.

 

Winning the 8th would have been HUGE for the Wildcats who seem to be star-crossed in big games!

Congrats to Shelby Co. and good luck in Lexington. Gallatin Co. had a great season and should be very proud of their accomplishments. The "little guys" usually can't compete with the "big guys" but that wasn't the case with these Wildcats. You guys had some big wins and everyone should salute their efforts. Again, congrats.

I saw the game. I feel for Gallatin. A sickening loss. No one should have to lose a game like that.

 

Congrats on a great season. Anyone who watched this team play could learn about team play and unselfishness. Great job by Coach Jones and his staff.

As a Gallatin County parent of a senior, I have to say we are still in a little shock. We led most of the game and to be leading with 10 seconds left to play and to lose like we did is unbelievable. Walking out the doors of the gym, a Shelby County parent said to me. Gallatin deserved to win. We got lucky.

It was so hard to see our players crying on the bench and looking up at the score in disbelief. Those of us who know these players are so very proud of them. Since these boys were in the 7th grade they have been winners on the court and in the classroom. The coaches truly love these young men and I know that Gallatin County Fans will never forget the 2005 to/2008 teams. Good luck to our Seniors, you have so much to be proud of. You will all be successful in life, because you don't know how to quit. Thank you coaches and players for such a wonderful ride.
