Shelby will most likely be preseason favorite, but with Oldham looking for a new coach it could get interesting. North and South Oldham return a solid core as well. Walton also returns pretty much all of their young team from last year and will probably be the favorite to win the All "A" 8th region. Gallatin also returns a lot of experinecedyouth from last years team and Owen might have the best 4 and 5 pair in the region with Shelton and Colligan (SP). Look for Henry County to be solid again next year, they played most of this year with hurt players and won the All "A" with about half a team due to the flu. Not sure about what teams like Grant and Anderson return. Has anyone heard anymore about the redistricting?

I would say Shelby has to be the favorite, but Owen could be a dark horse to win the 8th region. Not sure about the Oldham's but Gallatin only graduated one senior correct? If I remember right they were pretty young last year.

AC will be in the mix again. They will have one of the best players in the region in Russell and return 2 other starters from last years team. If a few more guys develop and step up AC will have a great chance at defending.

Actually Gallatin Co. graduated two seniors. Only one of the two, Trent Maddox, played major minutes. Don't count the Wildcats out this year. I know one upcoming freshmen that played varsity minutes last year as an 8th grader will be in the starting line-up this year. Should be at least 6 guys on the team this year that have had prior varsity play.

What kind of team will Walton be with their new coach at the helm? Any thoughts anyone? Do you think they will be in the mix?

Walton will still be on the lower half of the teams in the region I believe? Someone correct me if I am wrong. Also, SK loses their best player in Langdon Barnes, and doesn't retrurn too much besides Sorrel. So they too, I believe are on the lower half of that list.

Owen might have the best big man rotation in the region in Jordan Shelton, Michael Colligan, and Sawyer Williams. But their season will hinge on the development of point guard Kyle Kelly, and off guards Blake Lewis and Stone Osborne. The Rebels lost their 3 starting guards in Drew Marston, Collin Gamble, and Blake Traylor to graduation along with Royce Neeley who saw significant minutes. Kelly is more of a true point guard than Marston was as he looks to pass first instead of score like Marston did. Lewis and Osborne both have great potential as they are both long and athletic.

Williams-is that the same kid that plays on the Shining Star (Pittman) 15 yr old team?

Don't underestimate SK's Cody Chambers. He will be a player to watch for the next 3 years in the 8th.

Teach them how to play down low and I might think about your opinion.
