Are you talking as far as 1st two rounds? In that case, the top 4 teams in each respective district plays each other(1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3 in round 1, then the winners of the two games play in the 2nd round to be crowned District Champion), then the two district champions play each other for a Regional title, then the semis' begin... does that help??

Geez Hearsay, just looking at it I would say that potentially Region 2 has one of if not the most talented regions in the state this year! Would love to see an all star team of this Region...just on offense you would have such firepower it would be ridiculous: QB-Fields to run, /Witten(Danville) or Maldonado(Trimble Co.) to throw it?? RB-take your pick WR-How about Macon and Graves? TE-Smith, Bryant(Danville) not very such of an offensive line but there is talent across the region as well Defensively, WOW!!!!!!!!! (speed at every position if you ask me)....................

I personally love the offense; didn't look to me as an observer that up front the Ads were blocking the run game at all....lineman missing crucial blocks on probably your best run play makes it look very bad-also missing Morris at the wingback spot and a still slightly hobbled Guest hurts that play a lot in my mind(and I promise I am not making excuses for the reason Danville got hammered). I do wish that they could have taken a few more shots downfield with Macon, but Witten was running for his life most times and throwing off balance with the pressure he was facing(again, lineman looked horrible in pass protection).....hope that the staff doesn't second guess this offense-I think that it is really good and works well for what the Admirals bring to the table; I know that others feel totally different and hate the offense but it is strictly my own opinion....honestly, in my eyes the way Danville played up front I don't know if ANY offense would have moved the ball on the Panther defense last night.......

I think that they are referring to Danville finishing up their team offensive group work in pre-game while the Senior Night festivities were going on as well; don't think that it was meant as any disrespect to the Panther seniors and their parents....

wow!! This one will be fun to watch!! I think that the Eagles have a legitimate shot at winning; keep the turnovers down and don't let Bardstown hit you with the big play..also, being smart in their special teams play and forcing Bardstown to throw the ball more than they would like might get the Eagles a 10-0 season and #1 playoff position in the district.............. but it won't quite happen that way: Bardstown has just too much offense and will score either defensively or on special teams at least once...Tigers 24 Eagles 12

Frankfort will be a little flat, but a little flat doesn't get Trimble within 45 of the Panthers...... Frankfort 55 Trimble 8

Defense wins championships, remember that....but, with that said, what a game!!! Middlesboro has an excellent football team, there is no question. Breathitt Co. must be back from those past few dismal years. Would have loved to have seen this one!!

So, Danville gets the week off to rest, recuperate, and recover from the kick in the teeth that Frankfort delivered last night. So, what do you think that the Admirals do this week at practice as they prepare for their their 1st round game next Friday vs. in all likelihood Trimble Co?? My guess is that Danville will try to heal, both mentally and physically, and see which kids step up and get ready for a hopeful run at the title while finding out which kids "fold up the tents" and call it a season. I am sure that the coaches are gonna continue to work and get prepared for the playoffs, but to me it is up to those players(especially that senior group) to refocus and prepare for the task at hand. Anyone else??

Well, I guess that Danville should get ready to turn in the ole equipment 3 weeks from now, because this thing is turning into "Dead Ads walkin"; guess this will be the 1st time the Admirals haven't played for a Regional title since maybe 97?? Frankfort made their statement and won the battle for sure..now Admirals, can you win the war??????????

Who are the seniors on your team that should land either a Division I or Division IAA scholarship offer?? For Danville, there are some players that should play college football somewhere(smaller schools come to mind), with maybe the exception of Jeffrey Guest(rb/wr/db). At Boyle Co, Josh Miller should land himself at least a Div. IAA scholarship from the likes of WKU, EKU, etc...... Anyone else have a take on this??

Hope that he makes a wise college decision and goes somewhere that he can play early; tremendous talent, could be an outstanding college quarterback in the right system.

I am sorry that I don't know, but what tragedy are you speaking of with the Owen team? Congrats to the Raiders; Trimble Co. still has a lot to play for next week with Frankfort; tonight's outcome (Panthers vs. Admirals) will clear things up for them and let them know if they are playing for a #2 seed in the district or for a 3 way tie........

For his size, David Harlan of Danville is the best hitter that I have ever seen; to be 5'4"(maybe), weigh under 140 lbs, and hit like he does consistently every Friday night is unbelievable to say the least. I also like Jordan Nevels from Highlands-in 2004 I believe he spent about 2 hours punishing Danville rb Kelvin "Dooky" Turner....kid can flat out bring the wood! Speaking of the Admirals, talk to Sam Harp and he will tell you that back in the early/mid 90's he had about 10 guys that would light you up; Chester Ford, Kinte Bess(RIP), Ben and Kelvin Kinley, Donnie Redd, etc........

Gotta go with Jaggers and Co........Titans get 1st title; unless of course Western sneaks by them in the Regional then.........................

Mayfield plays tough non-district schedule every year to gear themselves for the playoffs. They win this game 99% of the time; this one won't be any different: Mayfield 48 Fulton City 22

Surprise: Lincoln Co.(who saw that one coming??) dissapointment: Lou. Holy Cross (but could still make a run in the next few weeks and be sitting pretty with a HUGE rematch with Bardstown)

How much do you think that field conditions will play into this game? Looks like another round of very wet weather today (Thursday)....Frankfort's field isn't very good, correct??

As the regular season draws to a close, what teams are making a serious statement that they shouldn't be taken lightly as the playoffs roll around? I am really looking for teams that started out the season on a downswing, but I am sure that some of you see teams that have played pretty well all season beginning to turn it up another notch with November approaching; any thoughts???

Love to see kids make moves that make their teams better; I agree that recently both Boyle Co. and Danville have done a terrific job of getting players in the right spots to help the team and to get as many playmakers on the field as possible. The one move that I still question (and this is my own opinion) is moving last year's starting quarterback from Boyle Co. Grant Tamme to receiver to make room for Bryce Perry. Tamme was phoenomenal last year at qb and I really thought that he would simply shine this year in that spot; guess hindsight really is 20/20!!

Casey is just too overmatched to be a legitimate threat to the Redhounds; Corbin should win by 3 or 4 scores.

I just believe that special teams will decide this one.....there are too many weapons for both teams returning the ball as well as decent kickers on both ends.....field position early in the game could swing a couple of scores either way as well-protection on the punt teams as well as good kickoff coverage could be a factor too.

Leonard Macon is a talent; the kid is raw with unbelievable upside...6'5" 220 lbs; deceptively fast for his size (I think that he has 2 rushing touchdowns, both over 60 yards or so). John Cole from Somerset is unbelievable-not a lot of size but the kid can flat fly and catch the ball as good as anyone that I have seen. I like Matt Jennings from Trimble Co; I agree that he is very underrated and would love to see him on a team that threw it to him on average about 10 times or so a game....frankly he outshined Macon in their matchup last Friday night. I like the kid from Henry Clay, but the one that I am thinking of if I am not mistaken is Shane Boyd's brother (#7)?? Big tall kid with range and can run for a big guy...I think that he will be back next year.

These rankings are just that: rankings....anyone could write these and I personally don't read too much into them. Looks sort of BCS to me
