The Official Bardstown (9-0) v. Bethlehem (9-0) Thread

Featured Replies

This is going to be sooo outrageous! There will be live local broadcasts, both tv and radio from at least 5 pm GAMEDAY! Undefeated Tigers vs. Undefeated Eagles. This is the biggest thing since Herbie Phelps vs. Jeff Van Note! I think the Eagles have a top 5 class A team. I think the Tigers are a slight cut above. If the Tigers turn the ball over 3 or more times, look out, if not,LIGHTS OUT!! GO TIGERS!!!

This game is getting more hype locally than the Bourbon Festival. Good for the community, not necessarily great for the kids. But this might be the biggest crowd ever at a local game.

I'll reserve my comments until I've heard yours. Thoughts?

As I said, if the Tigers have 3 or more turnovers lookout, if not lights out!! Sorry to beat you to the first thread after the game.

I'm sorry, GP, I didn't look down far enough and I didn't see your thread. My apologies. I will get a football mod to merge us.

No way will they be able to beat the crowds back in Nelson Counties haydays @ Bethlehems Field. Its just too small. I believe they should move this game to Cardinal Stadium which could take part in a doubleheader with Bardstown vs. Bethlehem and Nelson vs. North Hardin which would bring out a TREMENDOUS crowd.

Not that I don't believe in upsets. But I just think the Tigers are loaded. Should be a great game.

This game will be over the top. Bethlehem's home field is at St. Monica's Parrish. (Lally Field) This will by far be the biggest crowd they have ever seen. Back in the Day when Nelson Co. was a power house the Bardstown/NC matchup would draw 6,000 in attendance. Not bad for a city of 10,000. I do not expect that level of attendence but do expect close to 3,000 which will fill Lally field to the gills. There has been some suggestion about moving the game but I do not see any possibility of this happening. The momentum that Bethlehem has created and the atmosphere of there home games is allowing them to start pulling more athletes towards football. This is big when you only have 267 kids in the school and the State A championship soccer team. Win or loss this will be the biggest game in Bethlehems 10 year football history.

I don't believe Lally can fit 3,000. Not inside the fence, anyway. I think its concievable that 3,000 might be in the area, outside the fence, tailgating on the softball field or at the Buttermilk area across the street.

I don't envy the local authorities, this will be a logistics nightmare.

wow!! This one will be fun to watch!! I think that the Eagles have a legitimate shot at winning; keep the turnovers down and don't let Bardstown hit you with the big play..also, being smart in their special teams play and forcing Bardstown to throw the ball more than they would like might get the Eagles a 10-0 season and #1 playoff position in the district..............

but it won't quite happen that way:

Bardstown has just too much offense and will score either defensively or on special teams at least once...Tigers 24 Eagles 12

Indeed, there will be people all over the place on Friday! :scared:

Bethlehem has played well this year but I question there schedule strength. Bardstown will give them a reality check this week...BTown 35 Beth 13
