Bardstown v. Bethlehem (The Rematch)
georgia pass replied to Hearsay's topic in KY Football (High School)
The weapons for B-town are so numerous, I'm sure it's difficult to spread it around to everone as much as some might like, but when your leading rusher is averaging over 10 yards per carry and the next two are over eight, theres not much left. I'm sure that Rashaud will contribute a great deal in tonights victory! -

Emotion will be very high on both sides, there' s no doubt. I look for A.J. Lewis to have the best defensive game of his career. The entire team will support this performance and enjoy it! -

Really quite scary to win 52-15 and 41-14 and play such horrendus games. This doesn't bode well for the rest of the state if they ever do put one together. -

If Danville and B-town both win, I thought the game would be at the higher seed. Bardstown.

I haven't heard the story on the Western Washington Co. game. Can someone please tell me how Washington Co. won? I thought Larue had a shot at Western, and Washington Co. definitely had some athletes, but after Western handled Larue @ Larue, I never dreamed Washington Co. had a shot. -

Did your team meet expectations?
georgia pass replied to hurricane's topic in KY Football (High School)
The B-town Tigers have exceeded all expectations to this point but, the only relevant goals don't begin to be measured until next friday. I can recall a few B-town teams who did very well to this point in the season, then couldn't close the deal. If this team continues to display the incredible teamwork it has displayed thus far, the sky is the limit. Two members of this team told me 2 years ago before the start of the season that this was the year to win it all. I hope they were right. GO TIGERS!!! Oh yea, what I was trying to say is that this team has not met their expectations yet. -
Wes Cissell, is that the former Nelson Co. Cardinal Wes Cissell?

How many yards did Marvin Adkins wind up with. He played for Rowan in the early 80's and may have finished the season as the leading scorer? -
Lou. Holy Cross is the only one I know of.

I'm getting away from the most fundamental aspect of the game. If the Tigers keep the turnovers to 2 or 3 it's over. If the Eagles lose the turn over battle they lose the game. It all comes down to taking care of the ball. Garnis would always have a strong defense and wait for you to make a mistake in your own territory. He always had one series of plays that would make you pay for that mistake. This years Tigers are almost 3 points per game ahead of the 2001 team in defense. And that was the most impressive defense I have ever seen in my days in Nelson County. A very overachieving team in '81 may have turned the ball over 3 times in their final 5 games. That is what makes the difference.

I've only seen this years Eagles twice, and don't think I saw them throw to the tight end once. I understand they have a new one. Decoy, maybe but i doubt it. I think their new tight end will make a very good target as well as a strong side blocker. These Eagles may only need one block to break off a big chunk. HEADS UP TIGERS!! Boy I can't wait!!!

The Pumpkin Bowl is a dandy! This game will be full of Pumpkin Bowl participants: Paul Downs, Kelvin Scott, Jeremy Burba, Alex Smith, Andy Smith, Jeremy Gesser, John Gordon, Tyler Paschal, Austin Carey, Logan Edelen, Boo Boo Underwood, A.J. Lewis, Kent, Simpson. Iknow there are more but, as I get older my memory starts to fail me. Help me out with those I have forgotten. GO TIGERS!!!

If the Eagles score 21 points, I will be shocked. If the Eagles don't display some sort of passing game I think it will be a very long night for the Eagles. On the other hand maybe they shouldn't pass because opponents passing has proved to be very productive for the Tigers in the scoring column. Boy, I do not envy a coaching staff trying to prepare for the Tiger defense. The Eagles best friend will be Tiger turnovers, If the Tigers win the turnover battle it won't be close.
