Corbin vs. Garrard Co.
OLDSKOOLPLAYMAKR replied to TRUE REDHOUND's topic in KY Football (High School)
Redhounds pound the Garnet and Gold from Lancaster; Stonebreaker's stomach will be turning trying to envision playing this team again next week in the 1st round: Corbin 42 Garrard Co. 6 -
Boyle County @ Russell County?
OLDSKOOLPLAYMAKR replied to Daddypete's topic in KY Football (High School)
Boyle Co. will be clicking on all cylinders in this one gearing up for a run at the Pizza Palace: Rebels 54 Lakers 13 -
That is how I feel Adopted; I remember that Bethlehem team from last year and a last minute td run from Morris sealed the victory if I am not mistaken. Now I am sure that the Admirals had their eyes set on Bardstown last year(oops) but they CANNOT afford to make that mistake again this year or the season will most likely end in the state capital!!

To me it will be Harlan's ability to stop the big play in the rain...if they limit the Jumpers' changes to make big plays, then this one will be close and won in the 4th quarter. I think that a good running game and a decent passing game gives Somerset fits. I am sure Coach Perry and Donahue will have the defense ready to go; make someone other than John Cole beat you!! My team is off this week what do I do?
OLDSKOOLPLAYMAKR replied to ADopted ADmiral's topic in KY Football (High School)
Me too! I had planned on going to one of the games around Central KY, but I think that I would rather sit in the house where it is warm and DRY and listen to some games on the internet....Hope the Admirals don't slip up and let "bye" get em!! -
Jerry is obvious, but Eric I am sure runs about the same type defense and does a great job with it. I know that when he was with Danville he supposedly did an excellent job and they hated for him to leave. Another one that I like is the offensive coordinator at Lincoln Co, Clay Clevenger. He will make an outstanding head coach one day!

I think that Mercer Co. has a very nice uniform; whomever designed them did an excellent job with the colors/logo. Still partial to Danville, especially in their home uniforms, as well as Mayfield's...

Miss match or possible upset?

Newport Catholic has a legit shot, no doubt in my mind. -
the coach says that it is one arm(either)waived one time from top to bottom across the body. I say no way; anyone????

Got into a debate with a coach today over the fair catch signal in high school...can someone explain the rule on this? Hurry, I have $20 on it

College hopefuls from your team this year?
OLDSKOOLPLAYMAKR replied to OLDSKOOLPLAYMAKR's topic in KY Football (High School)
I would agree that grades are the first thing that any college is looking at; why so much so for Danville??? -
Don't believe so; I for one think that this is a rule that should be changed and be the same as in college; if you block an extra point or intercept/recover a 2pt try, you should be able to run it back for 2 points of your own.

Somerset- Ross Deaton QB is getting some looks from the likes of Eastern and Western. If he doesn't go there he will definitely be able to play at a Georgetown or something like that. John Wright Polk the kicker at Somerset has been getting looks from D1 schools and 1AA. He has a great leg and if he continues to work at it will be a great addition to anyones college football team. Cam Jones LB is also getting looks from Eastern. HailToTheChief is offline Report Bad Post Reply With Quote Quick reply to this message I agree with the kicker from Somerset; tremendous leg and I would think that some Div I teams have to be interested in this kid. -

The Bluebirds will win class AAA running away!! Their team is so explosive it isn't even funny; and that tailback is one of the best that I have ever seen! He has to play college ball somewhere!!!! Congrats to Scott! Just another Bluebird moving on to play on Saturdays!! -
Danville JV's vs Boyle Co. JV's
OLDSKOOLPLAYMAKR replied to super's topic in KY Football (High School)
Any comments from anyone that attended? Congrats to Coaches Kenny Young, KT Turner and Co......they are truly where the tradition starts in Danville(these guys can coach and are very well respected by the Danville High staff)!! -
Don't know a thing about Phelps; saw Hazard play Danville some weeks ago; they have a nice team with speed on offense and some hitters on defense. I will go with the Bulldogs by 38.........
-
Southwestern doesn't do anything tricky to give Boyle Co. anything to look at when they meet in the 2nd round(after beating the Maroons twice in 2 weeks): Warriors 45 Maroons 12

Where does Frankfort go now in the 1a polls?
OLDSKOOLPLAYMAKR replied to just 4 fun's topic in KY Football (High School)
I personally think that Frankfort should be higher, at least 1 spot above the Admirals, but what the heck do I know??? -
Admirals off-week, what do they do??
OLDSKOOLPLAYMAKR replied to OLDSKOOLPLAYMAKR's topic in KY Football (High School)
Now you are talking my language!!!!! That is exactly what the Admirals need to do; know that these things can be corrected and lay it on the line to get it done!!! -

OLDSKOOLPLAYMAKR replied to just 4 fun's topic in KY Football (High School)
Again, I believe that wherever you put Danville you put Frankfort 1 or 2 steps ahead of them. Having 2 losses hurts them, but it looks more and more like those 2 losses were to pretty good teams.
