No I in TEAM!!!!

 

As a fan of highschool football and parent/booster of Lincoln CO football I have seen several kids take on new positions and support roles for their team. These positions many times are less glamourous than what they have done in the past, but very benifical to the team. The advocate messenger does a story on this subject from time to time, about the BC or Danville player who moved from running back to lineman as example. This move is for the team and I am sure the player would rather stay in the spotlight pos. This player who makes this move/sacrifice and accepts it ,is a TEAM player.

BC has players change positions almost every year to help the team. I think this plays a part in their success year in and year out. The move itself helps the team, but I think it does more than that; It develops team chemistry and creates a "whatever it takes to win attitude" .

Lincoln has several players this year that play support roles that are somewhat new to them. Most only play "O" or "D" which helps the team finish ballgames in better shape.

Love to see kids make moves that make their teams better; I agree that recently both Boyle Co. and Danville have done a terrific job of getting players in the right spots to help the team and to get as many playmakers on the field as possible. The one move that I still question (and this is my own opinion) is moving last year's starting quarterback from Boyle Co. Grant Tamme to receiver to make room for Bryce Perry. Tamme was phoenomenal last year at qb and I really thought that he would simply shine this year in that spot; guess hindsight really is 20/20!!

I agree with you about the Perry/Tamme move, IMO nothing gained at this point, but the season isn`t over.

I think Lineman at every school are for the most part team players especially those that move from a skill spot to line, Franklin County has a few kids who could be productive at other spots but are lineman and work hard at their jobs I am sure this happens alot of places.

A few is a modest assessment at FC! Those you speak of are the difference in winning and losing.They never get their names in the paper(except if they get post season honors)but their teammates and the truly football knowledgable fans appreciate them!THEY PLAY TO BE PART OF A TEAM,AND FOR LOVE OF THE GAME!!!!:ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper:
