  1. CR - I have never made such claims. You must be thinking of something else.
  2. ^ Trinity will find someone to play QB. I anticipate that the 2008 Rocks will be just as good as the 2007 version. The D will be very strong. I would not be surprised to see Jordon W. carry the ball as well. Phillips will average some 150+ yards a game. The O will be just fine. With coach C calling the plays, the opposing defenses havn't a clue. Truly expect '08 to be very similar to '07....
  3. Biotech - What about the two all-americans at LB and RB??? Superman Phillips and Whiting (sp?) w/ Ohio State....? I would not count out any Trinity team until they have been defeated and turned in their equipment. The Rocks are the prohibitive favorite regardless of who they don't have coming back. Just don't forget that the franchise players of Phillips and Whiting are all the seed Trinity needs to bag another title.....
  4. CR - Glad your getting some comic relief. We are just trying to get some relief from the Lucky Charms.... BTW - I don't see X going on a three year title run 2008 - 2010. Heck, we are having trouble getting the first.......
  5. The truth and reality spokeith once again... Great post Ox. Yes, one must feel that the Tiger squads of late have had the ingredients yet come up short in playoff time to a bucket of luck. The Rocks have won fair and square, no question about that. They have done a very good job of taking advantage of their good luck. Lets say the Lucky Charm days are over. :thumb:
  6. How can anyone not say the favorite must be Trinity. Six out of the last 7... Come on people, get real. Trinity is the reining champ and will continue to be till some one beats them in November or December. Nough said....
  7. From what we here on this site, he is THE MAN. As in Superman.... Sounds as if he has all the strength, experience etc. to be ND's running back NEXT season..... most think he is the greatest RB to come out of Rock program ever...
  8. Congrats to SW on the big W. Just want to say how good a year that the Raiders had and if you follow sports long enough, these type of things happen when you least expect them. Keep your heads up McCreary, you guys had a great year. Learn and move forward to next year. Good Luck to SW the rest of the way.
  9. I did not see any of the faithful jump in a report this, so just wondering how you would rate the 3rd and 4th place teams in the 27th District? :thumb:
  10. Any team in the top 25 has a chance to get to the final four. Emphasis on chance..... may be slim for some, but teams in the top 12 have a very good chance to get their...... Not much of a profit here.....
  11. To clairify: BG => Everyone knows they are good, but they cant compete against the Catholics.. Butler => Well, Butler... Cincy St. X => Rocks will roll at home in this revenge game... Eastern => Ok, they score 10 at the most, by now the Rock O is averging over 35 a game.... St. Xavier => Rivaly game, yet the Rocks will try and win the regular season this time around also... Ballard => Rocks roll at home again. New system Ballard struggling with playing big games... PRP => Lets just say that the Rocks roll by 28+.... Dunbar => Dunbar is still reeling from last years defeat.... Lafayette => Had their chance at home last year and that was a disaster... Playoffs => ??? Don't see anyone on this schedule that can keep the Rocks from winning on 12-12/13.....
  12. Looks like another undefeated season is on the brink. Not much of a challenge in this schedule.
  13. Who wins, by what margin and why? I hope the Tigers come out with a W in this one. In reality, I see the Rocks by 11. Any form of a W for the Tigers will give this bunch something to talk about for a few years. Ball handling / control coupled with shooting will spell the fate for the Tigers. Need considerable improvement in both areas for the Tigers to be in this game..... Cant have more TO's than points!! Cant have 6 and 7 point scoring quarters as well. This all spells a big L if not effective in eliminating these problem areas. Good Luck to both teams.
  14. Passes to the TE are good. There even better when the TE catches the ball. Yes, did a much better job of hitting the TE with the forward pass this past season. Just need to add a few more wrinkles so that the D is stretched so that they do not know what to expect.
  15. DJ Hall's efforts on defense last year was a very welcomed sight. I would think we would have to have him back on D. I thought he played some of the better pass defense X has had for at least 4 or 5 years...... Very solid consistent player.
  16. After having enjoyed Tiger football for the last 35 years I understand what the above post highlight. The one thing that is successful is the "unexpected". The more diverse and unpredictable the offense, the better we will be at executing at the highest level. I am not a favorite of a two man QB rotation. We need to go with one or the other and have the other play at another position and serve as back up. Too many times the two QB system creates problems. Very rarely is it highly successful. I have seen Buehner at the VJ level and he looked very good. Throws the ball well, rolls out very nice. Brutcher played well last year at the varsity level as well. I would favor the QB who throws the ball with the most zip but most important, the QB who will run and run over people on the way to the key first down.... Have to have this.... I would like to have 15 plays designed for short and long yardage to be used exclusivly in the playoffs. These should be modifications of existing plays but options which we have not displayed..... OL quickness and strength will be key. Last year we improved in this area. We need to be quicker than last year..... If we are not, it will be difficult to acheive the untimate goal. I would take OL quickness and speed over strength any day.....
  17. St. Xavier.... 1. Victor Anderson - All time leading rusher for the Tigers. Quickness and speed were tools he excericsed on many a defense. Very elusive and difficult to bring down with out giving up another 7 yards after contact. 2. Tendi Charisika - Speed and Power that left defenses reaching for his shoes. A bruser of a runner. Would make you pay for the tackle, if you were to get a chance to bring him down. Tremendous leg strength... 3. Dicky Lyons - Never saw him play yet his legend remains. 4. Mark Paslick - Had a very nice balance of speed and power. Broke several long gainers. Extremely consistent and very strong in running north and south. 5. Several others qualify for this spot...
  18. Radio cast said he had 34 points for the game, 11 at half time..... Big win for the Radiers. Of course, really means nothing til the regional tournament begins. Congrats to the Radiers and good luck to both teams down the stretch.
  19. ALL Tell - Does that mean that you wont run for political office....:laugh::laugh:
  20. I would really be surprised if she is a candidate for the job. Who knows, she may apply and interview. In any event, I don't think that she is what the AD is looking for in reorganizing the program. Time will tell.
  21. It would be funny if that happened. It would be funny if she continued to beat the Rocks at the Varsity level as well.....:laugh::laugh:
  22. I agree with all of the above. Its really a difficult task to improve on something that is Perfect. :thumb:
