With all of the off field distractions on the U of L side of the fence and departures of 9+ starters, I would think that UK may have the upper hand. Now, with UK doing their own impersonation of "Im above the law..." who knows whats going to happen in this game. There is certianly a lot of heat on the UL side, with coach K etc. UK had a surprizing year last season and really proved themselves bowl worthy. Having said all of this, I see it as a UK dance by 10 points in the pizza box. I know that may not set well with the Cardinal fans, however, UL has a lot of proven to do. Last year they proved that BB could not save them..... Anyway, I wont lose any sleep whom ever wins or loses this game. Hope it is a good one and enjoyable to watch. Lets hope for sunny skies and 65 F.......... Wishfull thinking I know.....

Will Trinity win more than 14 games this year...

No discussions with Lou Holtz. It seems that the expectations are so high for another banner year. They should be with the recent track record. Will the 2008 squad go undefeated and achieve the goal? I would anticipate that many would be dissappointed with anything less. Will Smyth (sp?) break the records of Stein, Brohm? That is a lot of pressure to live up to, yet I think he will do a fine job this season. Beatty always finds a way to come up with the key player at the QB position. -
I dont know anything about the internal workings of the FC program, however, I was at the first half of that Ryle game and I have never seen a team fall apart as they did in that game. If I remember right, the first 5 offensive "touches" resulted in four turnovers.... Lets hope that they can overcome this and get back on track.

Looks good to me. The bottom 5 of the top 10 is where the guessing really starts. Good Luck to all teams this season. Have Fun....

What is Gamesmanship and What is Cheating?
Riverside 157 replied to Hatz's topic in KY Football (High School)
I can remember back in the "big game" in the late 70's early 80's that one team (when wearing white) would use cotton T shirts for their QB and RB only. The jerseys obviously had to be replaced several times during the games... Now the T shirts had the players number and all so it was "legit" however, I have always reserved the right to feel that this was a true reflection of ones lack of "class". Does anyone else recall this...? -
Can anyone beat Trinity? In the post season...

Just seems as if it would be somewhat difficult to keep the parents "happy"... with their son, being a JR or Sr. and playing JV ball. Everyone knows JV is a Soph level. It would seem somewhat difficult to understand that if you son was a Soph and he would not be allowed to play until his Sr year.... BUT, if it is in the best interest of the "program" then by all means the practice is embraced by Sr parents... Just some food for thought during this summer season. -

With so many QB's will Trinity play the Juniors on the JV level again this year? -
^ Like I said "shoe in".....
-
^ Don't for get the two All-Americans in Whiting and Phillips. Looks like it will be a shoe in for another State Championship.

In 6A can Lexington compete with Louisville?
Riverside 157 replied to Riverside 157's topic in KY Football (High School)
I agree with all of the above. Just wanting more competition from the Bluegrass region..... The idea of stronger scheduling would be a step in the right direction as well. Yes it may yield more L's however, if lessons are learned, they very well could make a more competitive team come November... -
How are the Tigers doing in the 7 on 7 competitions?
-
^ They are opening at home vs Ballard for the second year in a row due to "financial" concerns on Ballards behalf. Its not a P vs. P thing, its a $$$ thing. I find that to be very interesting. Hope the Tigers can build on a solid year last year and position themselves to be no 2. Just don't see any one giving the Rocks a run for their money... Tigers are not blessed with the best RB, LB and QB in 6A this year. Good yes, but not the best. That 35 - 2 playoff record is just untouchable.....

Sounds as if a boycott of the Catholic schools may not be in the best financial interest of the Publics.......?

Tell me about Coach C's Classes. What type of format are they? -
I see this situation as a " We must level the playing facilities...." LOL
-
I wish him the best. Im confident that he can be replaced fairly easily. No super loss for the Cats.

I think we should be conservative here. If UK gets to 7 W's, that would be a GREAT season.... maybe even go bowling.... 6 W's is kinda of a rebuilding year. 5W's is a dissapointment.... 8 W's and put the coach on the presidental ticket.... All seriousness, 7 W's would be a strong solid building year for the Cats... 7 W's and a Music City Bowl bid... What more could you really ask for...? Realistically.... Is it football time yet????

Still looking for the visiting teams to fill them up..... This includes the JV games as well...
-
BTW - In my eyes, this ranks right up there with the Dixie Heights and Meade Co. surprizes....... :sssh:

Contrats to CAL on the big W. Good luck the rest of the way. For the Tigers, a very good year. Learn from your mistakes and build upon them for next year. Baseball is a funny game. Sounds as if it just was not in the cards for the Tigers. Contrats to all players, coaches and parents on a very strong season. :thumb:
