Not wanting to pour gas on fire here but I do recall a Championship game several years ago (maybe 20 +) inwhich the game ended as the offense ran out the clock and into endzone. Offensive team was up maybe 4 points.... Player threw ball up in air and then defensive player catches ball in endzone..... Somewhere along the line there was a whistle blown that created all kinds of controversy. Very interesting finish to a game. Can't even remember what two teams were involved . . .

My initial guess is live ball, inadvertant whistle downs ball where it is....

I would not expect Male to move the game or ask St. X to consider hosting!!! The weather forecast is calling for lots of rain on Friday and both teams have to deal with it. Sure, it might "save" the Male field for better conditions later on in the season, playoffs etc., however, its Male's decision and I respect them for keeping the game at their place. I can remember many rain games at the old Manual stadium (before X had their own stadium and artificial turf). In an ideal situation, it would be better to play on artificial turf, however, the game is to be played at Male and both teams must play in equal elements of mud, rain etc.. Kinda makes it like old time football, which I like....!

This will be a battle to the end. TO's will be BIG!!!! Defense will win it for the Tigers . . .

I think we can all agree past performance is no guarantee of future outcomes . . .

I'd say this weeks game of St. X vs. Male will determine the District champion. Yes I know there is a lot of football to be played, however, when it comes to down to counting W's, this is a BIG game.... Go Tigers

Coach Beatty has done an UNBELIEVEABLE job at Trinity!!!!! His record speaks for itself. I think he is one of, if not the best in US!!!!! Seriously folks, 10 States in 12 Years....!!!!!

After having won 10 state championships in 12 years (correct me if I'm wrong) and now going 6 - 6 in 2013 and 4 -3 in 2014 with a 35 - 21 loss to rival St. X (so far), how long will Lampley and the Trinity staff / Alumni accept this current state of affairs??? I have long believed that coach Beatty is worthy of a college coaching job at a higher level. He has proven to get his teams to rise to the occasion many times in the past. Just wonderiing if he sticks around much longer will is marketability at the next level be diminished. At 10 - 9 over the last 19 games, one has to scratch your head and wonder... This question is offered in constructive form for discussion. There is no question he has proven himself at Trinity!!!

^ It's great to win a rivalry game, however, it really means nothing other than braging rights!!! The real sparks are the playoffs!!!! How you finish the season is what really counts.... Any victory in October can be easily eliminated in November!!!! One must be prepared to fight the battle at hand. These battles will not be easy!!!! Go Tigers!!!!!

As big a victory as this was, X needs to dedicate themselves to improving beyond where they are at now!!!! Big games against Male and Manual are on the schedule for the district championship. If you see Trinity again, they will be a different team and they will give you all you want and maybe a little more..... Keep your mind on the task at hand, keep working hard and improving. The next few weeks are big, however the post season is where all the marbles are collected....... Go Tigers!!!!

:laugh::laugh::laugh:Well, Well, Well what have we here ??? St. Xavier 35 - Trinity 21!!!!!!!! Well it seems as if all the "Coaching", "Strength of Schedule", "Talent", "Experience" and What ever else you want to post about for the last 7 days, was NOT enough!!!!!! Tigers played a very inspired game and took command from the opening series. Contrats to Tigers for total TEAM Victory!!!! Congrats to coach Wolford for his first W against the Shamerocks. Many Trinity folks felt as if he was out in left field. I have to ask the question, where was coach Beatty tonight??? Congrats to the Defense which played inspired football and kept the Trinity O at bay playing catch up all night!!!!! The X Offense played very well as the score indicates. Great Job Tigers!!!! Great to be 1 - 0 in the District with Male next on the schedule. Enjoy the victory tonight and tomorrow and be ready to focus on Male for next week. Go Tigers...... I can remember when Ft. Knox had a very respectable football program not too many years ago.... Sounds like a lot has changed. Maybe DeSales can focus on two weeks of preparation for the game against CAL!!!! That should be a very good one! Good Luck to both teams.

Scores of 48 - 0 48 - 6 46 - 6 34 - 12 40 - 0 48 - 16 30 - 6 32 - 7 34 - 10 Just to name a few, put a smile on my face!!!! I must also add 20 - 0 and 11 - 10 . . . . You know what I'm talking about!!!!!!!!

For the Tigers to come out on top, the Defense will have to play an excellent game. I know they are capable of this, just need to do it and STOP Trinity's Offense....

St. X Freshman soccer team completes the 2 game sweep of the Trinity Freshman with a 2 - 0 victory Tuesday night at St. X. The Tigers also defeated the Trinity squad 2 - 1 last week at Trinity. Great job Tigers!!!! We look forward to adding more State Championships to the record book!!!! :laugh:
