St. Xavier teams had a banner weekend in the Bluegrass collecting State Championships!!! Tennis team won the team title for the 7th consecutive year and 24th overall. Lacrosse team won the State for the 2nd consecutive year and 10th overall. The Rugby team completed a 4 Peat by winning the State for 4 consecutive years! Baseball and Track & Field are still up for grabs!!!! Great Job Tigers!!!!!

Hats off to Trinity for taking on this issue!!!! Not sure how it will pan out, however I do think that it is a good thing! Kinda surprised that THS thought that they really needed this??? I saw on the news yesterday the list of drugs they are testing for, steroids is NOT on the list! Very interesting . . . I hope that it is equally inforced as described. Based on past performance, I think THS has to prove themselves that this is the case and has higher priority than participating in a state championship game. Hope this works out and does not creat a ongoing controversy for THS. The Administration is addressing what they feel is a issue, I think they have made the right steps... now for the implementation!!!

^ I agree. The current logo on helmet is fine. Nothing wrong with the new one, however, other things need to change rather than the "logo" . . .

A lot of folks on here are bashing Coach Knight and that is really unfortunate! I still think " He was the Best Damn Chair Throwing Coach in the Country ". . . I am really glad that he is off the air, always made it a point to show his bad side all the time. He singlehandedly is why I really don't care for IU and want to beat them very bad at any sport!!!! It is sad, but College Basketball is better now that he is OFF the air!!!!

Well that settles it, the Trinity BGPers will have to find out who it is and let is all know with their special spin on why it is a bad choice. Its almost April . . . .

St. X has a lot of proving to do!!! A preseason poll is just that. Long way to go for the Tigers can begin to start dreaming of winning State in 2015. Lots of work to be done. Coaching vacancies to be filled . . . We shall watch with optimisim, however, that can carry only so far!!!

For what its worth IMVHO => 2013 is not the only State Championship St. X has given away . . . .

I know Ballard is Ballard and they have always been Ballard, however, this was Trinity's year with a stacked team and 4+ D1 players on the roster!!! This has to be a very low point in the Shamrock basketball program. Major, Major under achievement with this bunch. I know Ballard is no cupcake. Just thought that with all that tallent and coaching, Trinity would pervail. Trinity has been on a very nice run the last several years so hats off to them. Just did not see this happening. . . The 7th region is very tough and difficult to survive. History tells us players like Griffith and Turner did not make it out of the 7th their senior year either . . .

I listened to this game and St. X played as well as they possible could in the first half . . . Tigers starting running out of gas and fouls to give and the defense took a back seat . . . Waggner got HOT!!!! Several of their players nailed BIG three pointers down the stretch to allow Waggner the opportunity to get back in the game in second half. St. X had opportiuities in second half to put game away, just did not execute as needed. Had a chance in regulation to win it, just could not execute with 4 seconds left. . . The OT was Waggner's from the start.

Congrats to Coach Beatty for staying at Trinity. Good for him, his family and Trinity Football. As most of us know, Louisville is a great place to live, work and enjoy life in a great community!!!!

Something the Rock posters don't understand, while Football is important at St. X, its not the only thing! Academics and all other sports are important as well. At Trinity is appears that its Football, Football and Football, with some academics thrown in with some more Football. Case and point, Trinity builds new football stadium at the expense of a home baseball field. Coaching search for new football coach was a National Search to bring Beatty to Trinity. (Side note => Coach Beatty has done an excellent job at Trinity and his accomplishments will not be matched!!!) It seams the posters are more concerned about how St. X handles their search for a coach than trying to raise money to keep their own coach!!!

Tates Creek and Manual at 92.5 each Other Louisville notables: Ballard and CAL tied for 8th place with 85 pts each. Trinity secured 14th place with 46 points.

Congrats to the St. Xavier Tiger Sharks for winning the 2015 State Swimming and Diving Championship. This makes 27 consecutive State Championships and 51 overall for the Swimming program. Top 5 in the Team competition were as follows: 1. St. Xavier 361 2. Covington Catholic 328.5 3. Louisville Collegiate 171 4. Ballard 161 5. Trinity 111

This situation is very unfortunate. The young man will learn from this situation. This is the difference between St. X and other catholic high schools and JPCS schools. There is no "grey" area here. Every athlete at X knows the rules. I think St. X should be commended for their effort is this situation. I know other schools that have let their star player(s) play in regional and state football championships when they have come under the gun for use of drugs . . . There is a difference between St. X and the other school.

Maybe the seedings were correct?????

Hopefully he will come from Oregon!!!!!!!

I'm sure the 8:15 pm game on 1/12/15 will have attendance issues with NCAA football National Championship on tv at same time....

Who ever is the starting QB and/or RB for Trinity. . .

I would say it was a cheap shot. However, certianly not the "worst" thats for sure..... I will describe one of the worst cheap shots I have seen in 40 years of high school football. I will protect the guilty party and teams involved. It is a big rivalry game, the biggest in the state.... OK, you know who's playing. Im sure many folks on here remember if you attended the game, ie around 1977 . . . One team was punting and the other was receiving and called a fair catch. Befor the receiving deep man could catch the ball, he was blasted completely flat some 6 yards backwards by a player who was at full speed with the intention of hitting the deep man regardless if he had the ball or not... Completely defenseless and looking up at the ball. . . The deep man had no way of knowing what was about to hit him. . . The hit player was knocked unconscience for at least 4 minutes! The player that made the hit was congratulated by teammates and coaching staff as flags flew all over the field . . . Nuff Said !!!
