  1. I dont think people are marking Russell off their list yet.:thumb:
  2. I am not 100 percent sure but this is how I heard the draw went. Elliott Co. vs Boyd Co Russell vs Bath Co Rowan Co vs East Carter Ashland vs Lewis Co
  3. I agree, Russell is still in the mix. :thumb:
  4. Elliott Co. played well offense and defensive. Jon Ferguson and Evan Faulkner lead the Lions in scoring for the 2nd straight with 28 and 18 points. 8th grader Timmy Knipp has another strong performance. Hopefully Sportfan can give us all the stats.
  5. All Tournament Team Jonathon Ferguson-Elliott Co Evan Faulkner- Elliott Co Ethan Faulkner- Elliott Co Chris Knipp- Elliott Co Drew Johnson- East Carter Tyler Jackson- East Carter Tommy Dearfield- East Carter Chris Barker- West Carter Ace Puckett- West Carter Brandon Ferguson- Morgan Co Kaitlin Haney- Morgan Co

  7. Final. Stats to come.
  8. And if I were a betting man I would say it wont be Scott Co.
  9. I think Fairview has been underrated all year. Just like toya said, they played Elliott to a double overtime game and looked what they did tonight. :thumb: They have very good young players who shoot the ball and drive well and ohh yea, they go that kid named Baker who is pretty decent too.
  10. Johnson carried East early but it was the play of Tyler Jackson in the closing minutes that kept East close. Made several big plays on offense and defense.
  11. I think that they could have been an alternate punishment.
  12. No better coach in the 16th region come March. Lewis Co. is no doubt in my mind the worst draw anyone could have in district play. Hampton does it time after time, no matter if he has no talent or all the talent in the world.
  13. I agree, Hollingsworth should have got to play tonight. He has put a lot of time and effort into this and to have to go out that way is a shame. Surely they could have thought of an alternate punishment for a mistake.
  14. 1. Mays 2. Cookesy 3. Dodd 4. Biggs 5. Fraley
  15. Elliott County vs. West Carter, Monday 7:30 East Carter Vs. Morgan County, Tuesday 7:30 Winner 1 vs. Winner 2, Friday 7:30 The district is at West Carter this year. Who gets to punch thier ticket to Morehead, and then who wins in the championship?
  16. If Ashland can beat Fairveiw, no matter who wins this game it is going to be a hostile championship game.
  17. Raceland had a kid a couple years ago name Pecos Osburn.
  18. I thought Bath maybe should have cracked the top 10 this week, they have been playing very well and won 7 of thier last 9. It still is right on the money though. Good Job Cubster!
  19. Im pretty sure an all-time leading rebounder and scorer in the 16th region could possibly be almost as good as Fortman. Im not trying to say Fortman is not a good player, and she might even be the POY but to say it isnt even close is a little far fetched.
  20. With the regular season coming to a close, who does everything think deserves coach of the year honors.
  21. Rarely did Vanhoose post up and recieve the ball. He did score 2 points out of the post but other than that him posting, which again he did not do much of, had nothing to do with the outcome of the game. Now am I say that Vanhoose didnt make a difference in the game? No. His presence alone will make a difference in the game. But he made a difference on the perimeter, not the post.
  22. I agree Russell was better on the given night. I wasnt even close to making the excuse that the refs caused Elliott County the game because I to get sick of that. What I said was that the refs let the game be physical, which is what they should do in this type of a game. They should let the players decide who wins and they did that. I said that Russell adapted to the way the game was being officated and Elliott County did not. Even though I did it in my last post(post #39 if you wanna check dinoradja) I will do it again, credit Russell for playing well and earning the win.
  23. Vanhoose was held to 15 points, which is about 6 or 7 under his average. He also made 0 three points field goals. He also had 3 fast break lay ups, so he actually only got 9 points while being matched up with Elliott Counties "weak guards."
  24. The thing about it is, Russell probably was fouling Elliott County and probably fouling them hard. But you have to give Russell credit because they adjusted to the officating and Elliott COunty did not. From the tip, the refs let it pretty much be known that they were gonna let a lot go on both ends and if the refs arent going to call fouls, then it makes pretty good since to become more physical. Russell did this with success. Elliott County did not match Russell physicality and when you add that with a 33% shooting night you get the difference in the ball game.
